Moms! Happy Mother\'s Day!

about my mom... hmm... (where to start) my mom's dad was a WWII survivor (fought battles), ended up in a wheel chair due to his legs being run over by a tank. he was an alcoholic and an abuser. used to beat my mom and her 2 youger brothers, and her mom. finally mom's mom couldn't take the abuse anymore and took a shot gun to her self, pulled the trigger. grandpa found her in the attic dead. at that time (during the suicide) my mom had had her 2nd miscarriage (married to my dad). my dad is a whole nother story! she married him because he was the opposite of her dad. my dad would NEVER drink and was calm. but she didnt know that he was abusive in a whole nother way! mom and dad never lived together for as far back as i can remember. i have no idea why she married the fuck (sorry for the rough language). every time he visited he NEVER had anything nice to say to ANY of us!! he verbally, metally, and emotionally ABUSED us. he cheated on my mom constantly. but some how mom always went back to that bastard. just for him to leave us again and agian. He did manage to beat me a few times, and MANY times he tried mom stepped between us. growing up with mom was an emotional roller coaster. SHE WAS the emotional roller coaster. we never knew why (aside from my dad being an ass to her) she would throw fits of rage in the middle of night, throwing dishes out the back padio, breaking whatever she could shatter against the wall. then cry for several days, then have high energy and happiness for several days, then the cycle repeat. she was fianally diagnosed with bipolar in 2007. Wow... then it all made sense. other than that... mom was pretty cool. when she was feeling laid back we could have plenty friends over and hang out or party. although she did ground me A LOT for no reason. i guess just because i am the only girl of 3 boys. she did her best to raise us as christians even tho we mostly lived in a muslim country (Indonesia) and my idiotic sperm donor was mulsim too. i am a bit bitter for some of her decisions that she made back then. i recently told her what they were that ALL 4 of us kids resented. she had made some desicions that TORE our family to pieces and left huge scars in us. well, in time we will fogive her. she said she was sorry and cried. i told her to not worry about it, time will allow us to heal. my mom finally left my dad for good back in 96 and mailed him the divorce papers in 2000. she now lives with me and i just keep an eye out on her. she sees a counselor and a psych. she's is doing MUCH better now that she's on meds and is very happy here in Hawaii! I take care of her and she takes care of me. i love her and will always take care of her!!! she's my mom.

Hi,I think you are doing a wonderful thing taking care of your Mom. You are an angel. All Mom\'s should have daughters like you. You deserve good things in life. I will be living with my Mom in the near future and I hope I can make her life happier. It saddens me though and I fear that I will get closer to my Mom and not be able to handle it when she leaves this earth. My Mom is 77. I hope by living with her it makes me a better person. I understand a little about your grandfather. My dad was a WWII veteran and he was verbally abusive but was a good provider so I have to remember the good he did. He did at age 68. He served on the USSNJ if you are familiar with it. Got disability for some injuries and oddly enough starting having health problems at the same age I did 45. I am almost 48 now but a young 48. Take care of yourself and keep positive. You are a special person. Donna/NJ

I think it\'s great that you are taking care of your mom. I, myself, wish that I even just had my mom in my life part time, but that\'s the way things go. Hold on to her because you never know what may happen. You\'re a strong person and a great inspiration to me. Thank you for being who you are and the great angel and friend that you are.
