Mommy is sad
So the last few days have been pretty hard. Somethign happened at work that sent me into a downward spiral. I know my reaction was dispropotionate to what was actually hPeenng, and know hat i was really reacting to the bigger "body memory" as my therapiat called it - i.e. all the times in the past 6 years when ive asked for help and not gotten it. So yeaterday, i was pretty wiped crom all the emotions. Just kinda snoozing on the couch as my little ones watched t.v or played around me.
Later on my 4 year old told my husband "mommy is sad today" ..... And cue the breaking of my heart and the mommy guilt. I should be a better, happier mom for them. She is so in tuned to peoplesfeelings and can be so compassionate to them
But i also feel crappy that i was not able to successfully use the tools and strategies that ive beenearming in therapy to help keep me from taking a nose dive like that. I know im new to this and still learning, but i still feel bad

Don\'t beat yourself up it will get better in time with you doing therapy. It\'s normal for you to feel that way and just need some down time. I have to try and explain depression to a ten year old and my therapist that my son is seeing is going to help with that so if I get any break throughs I will share. And remember these tools are new and you need to learn to use them a little at a time and over time we will get better!!
One, I think it\'s actually a good sign that your 4 year old is attuned to other people\'s feelings. That\'s a pretty good developmental sign. Two, him seeing you triumph over depression will teach him about overcoming emotional adversity. In the future when your children have struggles of their own, you\'ll be so much more equipped to help them because of these experiences. Keep on it and I think you and your family will be better because of it!
