Moments to Remember
When I was in high school there was a hit song entitled "Moments to Remember." It was one of my favorite songs then and now. With that song in mind, my daughter Jonna, my friend Nancy, and I got in the car last Saturday and headed to the Grand Canyon. We went to Williams, AZ and then took the train ride to the canyon. Nancy and Jonna had never been there before, and experienced that same awe that I think everyone does the first time they see the Grand Canyon. What a magnificent work of nature!
From the Grand Canyon we drove to Sedona to meet my brother and sister-in-law for lunch. Sedona is situated in a beautiful red rock canyon, and the drive to get there was beautiful. My sister-in-law had a mastectomy in late December and has just had her first chemo. She was a little tired, but she still has her hair and is fairly upbeat about what she is going to be going through.
We then started home and stopped to spend the night at the Agua Caliente Casino neaer Palm Springs. Nancy was lucky and made a little money. I, on the other hand, helped to pay for the lights. Years ago when I was young, my dad took me to a Vegas casino, and his way to telling me not to expect to win was saying, "Just remember who pays the light bill "
I've started walking to get ready for the Bay To Breakers 12K in San Francisco in May. Since people walk or run in costume, I'm thinking of going as the real housewife of Orange County. If anyone has ideas on how to make a good costume for this, I'd appreciate the suggestions. So far my ideas have run to wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt and possibly a straw hat with oranges suspended from fish line.
In January I had some routine tests and a mamogram. There was a problem on the mamogram, so in late January I had a biopsy which came back benign. On February 14, I went to my doctor for my quarterly appointment and my CA125 had not risen. I continue to be greatful for each day and to pray for strength for those who are going through difficult times.

My son the DIL love Sedona. They went last year and did almost the same trip you made except they went to Vegas also. They love that part of the country and took some beutiful photos of the Grand Canyon.

So glad to hear you were able to make such a memorable trip....one that\'s on my \"bucket list.\" I REALLY don\'t like high places, so I won\'t be too close to the edge of the observation deck, but I imagine I\'ll still be able to see enough ;) Happy to hear your CA 125 is steady. Hi, It does sound as though you had a wonderful trip. I\'ve been to the Grand Canyon but not for years and only in the summer when it is crowded with tourists. It must be nice to be there when it is not crowded with people. I\'ve never been to Sedona though. Great news about you CA 125 and biopsy. Always a relief to get good news. xxJanet
