mom had surgery
1st, i want to thank everyone for all the awesome support! you all are the best and it really means a lot! it's so hard on me and the stress is really high. your friendship, support, and prayers has been the most awesome thing in the world right now. and just so you know, my mom really really apreciates it all, too. she said y'all are the best!
she had surgery on her leg yesterday (Thursday) and it went well. no complications. i took her to the hospital at 6:30 am and they had me pick her up a little after 5 in the evening THE SAME DAY. wow.... surgery is so advanced these days. they just send you home the same day! she had pins, screws and a plate put her leg. it's bandaged up really thick with out a cast. not sure what the deal is with that. are they gonna cast it later maybe after the stitches are out?
we are still waiting on in-home care to come thru. waiting for the aproval from medicare. she already has a case manager asigned to her medical case, who will be coming out to the house to check the house and see if it's safe enough for her to get around in. if it's not safe enough, i'm not sure if that means they will take her to a home for rehab? not sure.
she had a talk with my bro about his shitty attitude. at 1st he fought back. but she continued to talk to him and he agreed to "try" -and he emphasized TRY- to be nicer to her and do more for her. well i wasn't too pleased about it, but it's a start. mom wanted to deal with him and not have me talk to him. so i let it be (for now).
i went and rented her a pile of funny movies. hopeflully this will help keep her mind her off her leg pain. humor is healing stuff anyways. lol. well.... thanks again everyone and take care! God bless all of you! seriously.....

Glad the surgery went well. I do hope you can get someone into help her and give you a break. When I broke my leg they had to put a rod in. They did not put it in a cast. And I don\'t think your mother will have one either. By the time the stitches come out and heal properly, she is already weeks into rehab.
I pray everything goes well.
Glad your brother is going to TRY. I think it would help your mom out big time. Stress is not a factor. Funny movies are good. Have fun watching them.

May I recommend Fifty First Dates with Drew Barrymore? It\'s a great laugher!!
Much of the best for you and your mom!!
I\'m a bit of a Yoda myself - \"Do or do not - there is no TRY.\" Hold him accountable - if he doesn\'t do it, it\'s because he doesn\'t care to do it. Your mom may want to deal with him but that doesn\'t mean you can\'t remind him if he gets out of line. I expect you\'ll know when it\'s time to step in.
I\'m glad the surgery went well and that she is healing. Movies are a great idea - it\'s the one thing that keeps me sane when I\'m in pain. If I take meds (which I do if the pain is bad enough to keep me down) I\'m too spacey to read, but you can stop a video and take a nap and come back to it later, so that has worked well for me.
We\'re still sending good thoughts and positive energy your way - hope you\'re feeling it!
Glad she is home!!! I will keep you both in my thoughts.
Wishing you all the most!! Love and hugs!!xoxo
Glad she is home, and the surgery went well....take care of her, and yourself too!!
yay!! ok now maybe you will be on the down slide now. hang in there honey. hope her recovery is swift and painless. (for you, too) ;) thinking of you. let me know if there is anything i could do to help. ..........wouldnt that be cool if i could just stop over and bring food and give you a break? i would if we were closer, babe!! but I will pray from way over here...mama
