Mom -- allergic reaction; me -- crash
Well, I didn't sleep late Friday. My mom had and allergic reaction to the nitrodur patch they put on her when she was dismissed from the hospital in Nashville. My sister-in-law called me at 6 am Friday morning to tell me about all of the symptoms mom had and that she believed it was an allergic reaction, but she wasn't sure. My sister- in-law HAD to go to work, so I wrote down everything she told me about the symptoms and headed over to their house. My dad came in while I was trying to contact the doctors and getting mom's stuff ready to go, just in case. All I could get was the voice mails with the doctors, so we got mom ready to go to the emergency room in Russellville. My dad got mad at me because I wanted him to take her. I didn't want to take her because I was afraid Russellville would say, "Take her to Nashville," and I was so afraid I couldn't do the Nashville drive again, especially on a Friday. I'd rather have my dad mad at me than have a wreck with my mom in the car with me. (My dad is one of those who just doesn't get what cfs does to the body. He thinks that if I "push" myself and "get back in shape", I'll be just like I used to be!) Anyway, their were things that I could do to help from home. I got my mom's prescriptions filled and got info on the meds, and managed to contact the doctor in Nashville -- he said it was an allergic reaction and sent a message on what to do. Russellville got everything under control and mom is doing better, now.
I knew I was crashing by Thursday night. I'm very good at checkers -- my husband refuses to play against me. When I kept my nieces Thursday, the 9-year-old beat me at checkers two games in a row, and I wasn't cutting her any slack. She just plain beat me!
I rested yesterday. I went to church this morning, but I don't plan to go back tonight. I don't plan to do anything tonight or tomorrow. I have to drive my daughter to Paducah for a medical treatment on Tuesday, so I have to conserve my energy and recover as much as I can.
Many, many thanks to you for praying for us.

Rest up. It\'s been a rough time for you. I\'m so sorry your dad doesn\'t get it. I can totally relate to not wanting to drive in Nashville again. I get really shaky and disoriented at times. It\'s beyond anxiety or not wanting to try, it\'s just a physical response that you can\'t control. My husband has me text him at work when I get home from the grocery store or the doctor\'s office. I\'m really sorry your dad thinks you can snap out of it. That really hurts, I know. Blessings on you, dear friend. Hold on.
Goodness Pilot, it really has been full on for you lately, any wonder you are crashing with all that stress and responsibility. Your dad is like most people who don\'t have cfs, they can\'t imagine what it is like.He sees how good you look, so doesn\'t consider you to be really ill.The invisible illness, that\'s for sure.If you have a plaster on your leg or arm, oh my, what a different reaction.Glad your mum is stabilized a bit more, it\'s a worry for you, for sure.So get that body of yours down and lying flat and leave a few things go and put yourself first . Rest and relax my friend. You give so much out to all your family, so time to pamper yourself.Hugs Di xo
I\'m so happy that they caught this allergic reaction and mom is doing better. This is a very scary thing to go through.
About dad...um, I have a few friends like that...my dad included. I don\'t try to explain it anymore. He\'s 88 years old and I really think that he simply doesn\'t understand. I don\'t blame him. My friends that took a hike...on the other hand...can go fly a kite!
I know this is taking a tremendous toll emotionally and physically on you!!! I\'m glad you didn\'t go back to Nashville. Good thinking not to put that pressure on yourself. We KNOW when we can make road trips. We KNOW when we can\'t.
God bless you and give you and your family strength, and healing prayers for mom! Hang in there...we\'re all here for you! oxo
