Mixed emotions and bellyaching

I am feeling more Christmasy than I usual - who can't with 5 year olds around!

On the other hand, it hurts.  Lisa isn't here to enjoy the fun and games.  She would make it so much more magical!  She knew how to do Christmas.

For the first time, we will be with the twins for Christmas.  I can't wait for Christmas morning.

There is always a downside though.  David's mom is insisting to go to Alberta to be with her grown kids.  She really wants to move back to Alberta.  She has been wanting to move  there for a long time.  David's death has only made her more determined.  Harvey's family is here and he loves his job, one that would not be available in Alberta.  Cevyn told him that if he moved back there she would be done with him!

The problem is that Beth refuses to get vaccinated so can't fly.  Cevyn's dad is going to drive her there.  It is a 4-5 day road trip!  The weather between here and there can be very unpredictable.  Lisa and I ended up in the ditch in Manitoba several winters ago!  However you look at it, it sucks.  Luckily, Joe is in the air on his way here so Granny and Poppa get to celebrate with our precious girls, Cevyn, Arabella and Sierra!   I am not sure what would it would have been like if we had not been able to be here.  I would hope that Harvey would not have left them alone but Beth can be manipulative.  The twins' dad is being a twit and won't allow Cevyn to take the girls out of province.  She could have flown otherwise.  The upside is we will have them to ourselves.  Bring on Santa!

So much reminds me of Lisa.  The quilt on our bed has memories.  Lisa and I were shopping and both bought quilts - about 20 odd years ago!

I am so thankful for so much but the pain will always be there.

Wishing all my SOTH a peaceful, blessed holiday season.
