Misunderstood and chastised

I had someone send me a friend request so, I accepted it.  I guess I messaged them and kind of give a short rundown of what I once was and where I had been in my younger years.

A few days later, I sent another message to this person and went into a little more depth of my past. I never got a return comment concerning my message so, I sent another message asking if there was something wrong or if that person didn't want to converse with me.

I got a scathing letter back stating basically that I was stuck on myself, that I was a narcissist, that my message was generic and that it was all about me and I was chastised for not asking more about them.

First of all, I don't pry into people's lives unless they choose to share with me about themselves. Secondly, I am not a narcissist and I am not stuck on myself.

All you friends of mine who have known me for years know that I am the kindest, most gentle, compassionate and sincere friend you've ever had.  I never judge people.  I have been here on DS for about 17 yrs. and I have never protrayed myself as being anything but and honest and true friend.  I told this person they could unfriend me if they chose to and they did.  I never had this type of feelings directed to me in all the years I have been here.

Unfortunately some are just beginning to reach out and barely willing to say too much. I cannot blame them. We have all been there.

You and I are alot alike in that we want to reach out and share our stories....as well as hear about theirs. Only difference is, I have a big enough mouth I may ask a question. (They can always choose not to answer. )

Many of us here can attest to your kindness and personality.

I'm so sorry Mike I guess that this person just finds it hard to communicate with a kind honest person that is up front about who they are now and what they use to be like in the past maybe it was to much information to soon ...love always your friend Tina...ps thank you for all your help ...xx
