Mistakes

I wonder if there is anyone out there who has NOT at one point made a mistake. Even a BIG mistake. Seems like I blunder more and more the more I get sick. Wow, that's a LOT of more's in one sentence! But, seriously, if you haven't ever made a mistake, share the magic with me PLEASE! I need some help in that area for sure. Ta

It seems that when one doesn\'t feel well we just don\'t care as much as we should, and therefor we seem to let our guard down in oh so many ways. We cook when we shouldn\'t, and end up burning the kitchen, or do laundry when we shouldn\'t be getting out of bed and mistakenly add bleach to a load of reds, or pay bills on line and forget one because you are so freaking tired or because your meds kick in & you fall asleep on the computer..I can keep going. We are human and must learn to accept our short comings & celebrate what we are able to do.
It took me an 90 to shower and get dressed put on a tiny bit of makeup..Then I took a nap, finished combing my hair just to spend 30 minutes at my grandsons 6th birthday. But it was worth it when my daughters Mother-in- Law was there and never combed her hair, said to me, \" wow you look good, I thought you were sick & in the hospital for three weeks\"? I responded by saying, \"Yes but I would rather stay home than have the kids see me not looking Happy for their BIG DAY..\"
Love Ya Stay Strong..

Ta ladies. I\'m so completely exhausted after my surgery. I followed some advice of my mentor/boss I met in 1985 (yes, I worked at the college for 28 YEARS!!). Anyways, on his recommendation I posted a complaint on FB. Boy, what a bad mistake. I can blame a lot of it on my anesthesia since I was still completely groggy. And some on the people who should have been helping me (union, grievance coord, etc.).
The long and short of it? The, ......, um,,,, PERSON that I complained about is now going to sue me for slander (he means libel since it was written). Even tho every single word I wrote I believed to be true. One of the people I was trying to protect then went into his office the next day and said they spoke to me and I ADMITTED I LIED on the whole posting?!!?
I\'m in a terrible twilight zone. I mean, no good dead goes unpunished, huh? In hindsight, I can see that posting a complaint while in the middle of a grievance isn\'t a good idea. But I was desperate! The person said he was going to take ALL my office belongings I had (as in almost 30 YEARS of stuff) and have it dumped on my front lawn!!!! And not one person at the college would speak or communicate with me (with one exception, a wonderful lady who\'s mom just passed. I didn\'t want to bother her!).
So now I dread each day even MORE if that\'s possible. Just waiting for the certified letter saying I have to go to court. I\'m baffled. I didn\'t LIE at all! At most, I got the facts wrong. I don\'t think that\'s libel.
Sigh. Some weeks/months/years you should just be able to forget!!!!
Cheryl: SOO proud of you for doing all that work and having the courage to go to the party. I totally get the 90 min shower. In fact, I can\'t wash my hair AND shave in the same shower. And I also do one thing, like brush my teeth/hair, then lay down. I still sweat so badly I change outfits many times. I have a trick now: I put a long towel down my back and front and wait until the last minute to put on my clothes. Then I drive where ever and take the towels out at the last minute. Of course, sometimes I get weird looks and I realize I forgot to take out the towels!! Haha - you gotta find humor in the ridiculous, aye?
Thank you too, Diane, during your hard time. You have such a wonderful, giving heart. I see you both on the boards all the time, propping people up and saving their sanity if not their lives! I aspire to be more like you two. Honest! How come I complain so much anyways? Ick! That\'s so not who I am. What\'s your trick? Do you have a complaint circle so all these poor people don\'t have to deal with your crapola?
Take care and again, thank you sooo much. This has been another bad August! Nibs
Do not worry about the lawsuit...sheesh you can go to court and tell them you have been ill and on medications etc and sometimes you don\'t remember what you have said etc. Even if you need a note from your drs and therapist. And if it hasn\'t happened yet I don\'t think it will happen at all. Hang in there hon.....

Ta. I just felt (feel) so stupid. I almost always take the high road but I was so stressed and NO ONE at work would answer me at all! So frustrating to find all my work \'friends\' are ... I hate to say it, coward or maybe off on vacation? I prefer to think that but some ARE at work! I hate this. I HATE losing this tenured position. I feel like my life is over in so many ways, ya know?
I have to admit, I wish I could take a diane-pill for courage and grace amidst adversity! how the heck do you DO this without complaining all the time like me? Luv, Nibs
You don\'t complain you have lost your way a lil bit and we are here to steer you back onto the right road again :) Hey if you take a Diane pill you will wind up looney tunes lol.....i dunno where i get my strength from but my husband has a pessimistic personality and i don\'t like it and so i am always trying to get him to see the bright side of things even tho its crap lol....but hey I don\'t know how long i have on this earth and why should i end it with being down all the time. What if there is no gawd and we can\'t dance in the heavens in our after life then i really will be pissed :) Hugs! Love ya girl!
