Missing My Mom

Today I am really missing my mom. I miss her all the time but today, no matter what, everything reminds me of her. I took a shower and the soap I finished and threw away was a gift from my mom. I cried. I got dressed in some lazy day clothes(basketball shorts and a t-shirt) and am reminded that my mom thought the shorts were an amazing deal and the shirt was an even better deal. Sitting here as I type this entry, I am reminded of the time my mom gave me this laptop for Christmas one year. I look around my room that she's only been in a handful of times and can think of all the comments she had for it. She's never going to be here again. She won't get to see the changes to it. She won't know that I actually took her advice for once. I can't show her the newest additions to some of my collections. I'm not able to tell her that I finally read a book she let me borrow years ago. I need her. She was a big part of my life and I didn't realize that she had some many ties and connections EVERYWHERE. Even the dog that lives at this house, she isn't mine but I am reminded of a time she came to visit and the dog jumped up on her and scared her. It's everything in life. I am having a hard day. I don't know if I should give in to these feelings or find a way to fight through them. There are no rules for this. This is a new and horrible experience.

Hi Vicky,

Sad to say that death is tough, and many say a horrible experience. I am sad for you. Yet, it is not imaginable to the natural human mind just how restful and peaceful death is, a comfort to those in heavy pain. Your mother left you with a happy gift filled with endearing memories, indeed. And never in the mind of faithful believers would one say to you that your mother is not still with you, in spirit she lives! The same physical love shared within this earth life is constantly between you. Right now! Your mother is refreshed in spirit form, and deep and enriching is her experience! She is continuing to learn of the great sense of joy and happiness while within the hope of the spirit world. Lightness is now forever a blessing to your mother; the light of Christ holds all our departed loved ones. And in this same manner, she is still in communication with you. Waiting to talk things over with you, always she is listening for your voice. You need only to speak to her as usual. Many of our emotional problems with coping while in grief, or mourning the departure of loved ones, involves a hold on our faith and trust in God's spoken word, His written promise, which means that there is the constant hope of eternal life. And there will be a resurrection of all mankind and animals, and plants (nature), all living things die and a promise is in full force that all will come forth, at God's given time, to live again, eternally. Vicky, you need only to hold fast to your faith in God. Faithless thoughts are smothering; I know this, however, not allowing you the freedom of holding fast to God's plan of salvation, a promise of eternal significance to all mankind. Your mother rest peacefully with Christ, but she will live again. Bless her and be of great cheer for her rest.

I pray for you a comfort as you read through my comments. I bear you my testimony that our Redeemer, Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, our Lord looks lovingly upon all sorrowful hearts; He heals. Bless you to keep your faith in God's amazing plan. Only God will comfort the broken in spirit, and God loves you, Vicky, and your mother is at a peaceful and happy rest now. Yet she will always be with you as a comforting angel.

Much love and many tender hugs to you today :-)<3
