I know how hard this is....Kate driving or not and when....I just know that in my heart I know we can\'t keep them from danger...at any age. When you feel Kate is responsible enough for the priveldge, you need to let her have that experience. It\'s a right of passage that we all have at some point in time. Let Kate\'s time come in HER time, not yours....meaning when it\'s right for her, (not just because she says the times right), and not because your fears have subsided. Let\'s face it, that will never happen. You will sit by the phone and watch the door each time she leaves....but you must let her leave one day.... This may not help, and may not be the time/place for this memory, but I\'m reminded of a mom that was on here...can\'t remember who....but her 13 year old son drown while taking a shower. He\'d slipped and hit his head knocking him unconscious. No one heard him fall. It was tragic...just as tragic and Ashley\'s and Kala\'s accidents. But we wouldn\'t stop our kids from showering, and we can\'t stop them from living. I hope I haven\'t over steps my bounds. We\'ve been friends on here for over 2 years. I count you as a special friend. I\'d never say anything to purposely hurt you. I hope you know that. Here if you need me, Teri.

Thanks for your comments, of course you are not overstepping! I value what you ladies have to say cause I know you mean well and will tell me the truth! I know she will have to drive but I really dont think I can trust her she lies at home and doesnt do things she is supposed to so how do I trust her in a car with free roam??? life is so hard....love you guys:) HUGS

I think that you will know when it is the time to let her get her permit. We have experienced the worst pain ever...so we deserve to \"over react\". We don\'t want to live in fear either. It is so hard to get to a place where we can relax when it comes to our children. I don\'t know if we will EVER really relax...but we will get more comfortable with the possibility. So...give yourself time....love to you...Karen
