Miserable and in pain

I'm having problems with salivary gland swelling again. :(  In 2007, I was diagnosed with the mumps and had it for well over a month! After that I developed hoarseness that never really went away. Later on I developed swelling in my submandibular salivary gland in the left side. The ENT said I was more prone to salivary gland stones due to my high calcium. He had an x-ray done of that gland which showed no blockage and no stone. He said that sometimes people just develop swelling in their salivary glands. I did the heat and massage of the gland. I tried sucking on something sour to open it up. Eventually the swelling went away but would come back every once in a while. I also had other times where I had swelling on both sides. Nothing could be done and eventually it went away. Now it's back again with a vengeance! I have swelling in both glands under my chin and along my jawline. It's still more swollen on the left. My mouth is very dry and it's hard to chew because of my jaw. Also my ears have a lot of pressure in them. :(    I took Motrin and had some hot soup and hot chocolate. I can't lay down because that makes the swelling under my chin press too much on my throat making it harder to breathe.
