Miracles Abound
Miracles Abound
I have a saying on my living room wall, one of those sticker ones, that says... Everyday holds a possibility of a Miracle. My sister gave it to me when I moved into my apartment 7 years ago and I have read it numerous times every single day. I always thought to myself yeah right not to me they don't. Well I can now see how wrong I was. I was so much into my own private world full of pain and agony I could not see them nor feel them. When I met Tim before Christmas my world really began to change. He is a recovering alcoholic who chose to turn to God to help him sober up and stay clean. He now has 100 days clean. I am so proud of him and he has been tested numerous times, some little but he had some huge ones too and passed them all with not a single urge. His believe was able to get me to go back to church, not mine so much but his. I had not been to church for a regular sunday service in approximately 10 years. He asked me if I would go with him the first sunday we were together and I said yes. I forgot to take my valium and when we got there I thought "Oh no how am I going to do this". I should not have worried as the warmth and love in that little congregation was phenomenal and I was accepted just as I am by everyone there with no question. We now go there every friday night for dinner and 3 sundays then the 4th we go to my church, where I definetely need my valium. We went to my church yesterday and sat with my mom and it was just as it has always been since I can remember as a child, cold and clicky. Oh there are a few that welcome me with smiles and open arms, but I have always felt this way that many of them are just there to look good. Afterwards we went and picked up a couple of prescriptions for my mom and took them to her, I went up alone and we were talking and I finally told her I had been going to church every sunday just not our church. And that I like the other church a lot. Now here is the miracle, she told me well then that is where you should go. Mom has never condoned anything I have done that does not fit into her way of things and this is one of those things, so needless to say I was shocked. And she just kept on shocking me. She said next that it is my time for happiness as I have never truly had any in my adult life other then my babies, and there were as we all know some hard times even with them. She said you deserve and you have been working so hard on losing your weight and trying to feel better and getting your teeth done, it's just your time to be happy and I want that for you! Typing this right now it has finally sunk in and I have tears rolling down my face as mom and I have always had a very strained relationship. Her words to me yesterday mean the world to me and I am cherishing them right now.
So since just before christmas here are my miracles that I have received:
Tim
His sons and their wives accepting me
His two grandsons loving me
My two sons accepting him
His father loving me like his own daughter
My return to church and my faith abounding
My mom loving me and wanting my happiness
Not having cancer
Having a successful surgery with little pain
That is 9 miracles just happening to me in less then 4 months. Look at your life I bet each of you have had some also.

Miracles DO abound and what a lovely narrative about what they are meaning to you now. I always try to remember that \"we\" can be that miracle for someone else too. I am so grateful to hear that your mother is wanting what you want and that you feel that shift within her. Even as adults we do look to our parents just for that, to feel loved, cherished and understood.
I see awakening to each new day as a miracle. Another day to be a co-creator and to see what will evolve. Life is a blessing and I have often felt prompted to not squander a moment of it. Rachel Remen, a favorite author of mine reminds us that we are meant to bless one another and in that it becomes our blessing. I have always tucked that away in my heart and never forgotten how I felt when I first read it many years ago.
Loving care and may many miracles and blessings continue to BE yours.

Miracles are astounding and I am so glad you have found some happiness and that your mom wishes happiness for you. That can mean so much. God is good! I am glad you found your companion and that you are going to church together. It means so much to have friends and to have acceptance.
Sending love,
Leda
