MINI-MANIC
Good day, my friends. It's been quite a while since I've written. I seem to keep myself busy reading other people's things & responding. I guess I forget I might have something to say too.Today, I had an appointment with my Psychologist & my psych nurse (+ a student nurse). I don't know why, but suddenly, everything that came out of my mouth was funny. All 4 of us ended up laughing our heads off - even my usually serious doctor. It was fun, but I was also embarrased, cause I knew they knew I was manic. I told them about something that had happened to me & how I responded, & they all looked at each other with sheepish smiles, & I knew they though my reaction was due to mania. I went on & on explaining how it wasn't, it was just my usual way of being & what I stood for. Oh well, you can't always win, right.Something upsetting happened the other day on the phone. I called my sister, who lives in Arizona, & her husband, who I've yet to meet, after 10 years, answered. He told me it was 80 degrees down there, & asked how it was up here? I told him we had had many sunny days but it wasn't warm yet. Then he says......"Well, it better hurry up, or you're going to get depressed", like the punchline of a joke. Well, I sure didn't think it was funny. Who did he think he was. I found it & him to be very rude & unkind. It hurt alot.A friend of mine from DS told me about a program she went to called DBT skills. I don't remember what it stands for, but it's supposed to teach you really good life skills. I told my psych nurse about it today, & she said she thinks they're planning to start a group up in the future, but she's not sure when. She put me on the list of interested parties. My son & his wife are now expecting their baby girl, Adalynn Tait, in 6 weeks today. We're all getting so excited. The expectant mother, Kendra, is very uncomfortable, having gestational diabetes & sacro pain, but she's hanging in there. She's a very brave girl. I'm so proud of her. I'm proud of both of them. In their first year of marriage, they've been through so many troubles, & they've handled them bravely & maturely. And they still appear to be in love.Well friends, I thank you all who have been there for me. I can't say enough how much DS & my friends means to me. I'm so grateful.God bless you all,Love, Debi
