Migrane included
Had a painful bout with a migrane yesterday. I was OK in the early portion of the day but after 3:30p, I felt weak & fatigue, but NO headache yet. I thought I was low in sugar, so I grabbed a bite but I wasn't hungry. I took some calm Natural product. and 1/2 hr later I had a very bad headache in the back of my headache, that is when I took an imitrex and the migrane subsided. Currently, my nerves are going because I'm constantly thinking about this problem over and over and what other problem may occur later on. Doc say I'm too young for a stroke. I've got to stop this paranoia.

The pain of a migrain is great. It is caused by a chemical embalance in the brain.I was getting them for a few years then they stopped.I remember my nephew getting them as young as 5.It is less likly you would have a stroke at your age,but when my dad was recvering from a stroke, there was a lady in her thirties recovering from one.I dont mean to make you more paranoid. If you continue to get such bad headaches ,you could put your mind at ease by seeing a specialest.
Have you been tested for a PFO, (Patent Foramen Ovale)? I had terrible migraines 6-7 times a month for most of my life and then a constant 24/7 headache in my right temple for 2 years. I went to a neurologist who then sent me to a cardiologist who found the PFO. It\'s a simple procedure to have it closed. Message me if you\'d like more info. I haven\'t had a migraine since, just the occasional tension or sinus headache, but that\'s just normal life.
Info from Mayo Clinic website http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/patent-foramen-ovale/DS00728
In normal fetal development, a small, flap-like opening the foramen ovale (fo-RA-mun o-VA-le) is present between the right and left upper chambers of the heart (right atrium and left atrium).
The foramen ovale usually closes within the first or second year of life. However, in at least one out of four people, this opening persists throughout life. This condition, called patent foramen ovale (PFO), may allow blood to flow from the heart\'s right atrium to the left atrium and vice versa.
Most people with patent foramen ovale don\'t need treatment and don\'t know they have the condition. Patent foramen ovale is often discovered during tests for migraines or other heart problems. Learning that you have a hole in your heart is understandably worrisome. Patent foramen ovale might increase your risk of stroke and migraines, but the evidence isn\'t clear.
That isn\'t a lot of info I know, but one in four people have it. Only a small percentage have complications from it like migraines and strokes. It\'s worth looking into for peace of mind and also to get rid of migraines forever if you have it. I was scared as hell when I found out there was a \"hole\" in my heart, but really it was no big deal. I went in for the procedure at 11am, it was over in less than an hour and they just kept me over night for observation. A lot of places let you go the same evening. No pain at all, it was simple and I love being migraine free!
Hope this helps,
Kim :o)
Interesting, I haven\'t been tested by a cardiologist for that. The only thing that my neurologist did was examine my CatScan and commented on what foods to avoid. but I did have an EKG done at the hospital but did not find any unusual except vein that was enlarge around the heart which they say was normal. Wouldn\'t the 1st thing that comes to mind when you start having a migrane is being stress out. I Appreciate the info...
