Mid-day 2-mile run - 10 More Days to the Race!

Today's workout: 2 miles + strength training.
So I didn't work out right in the morning like I'd hoped, bu I did have my workout earlier today-- before lunch! It felt good to get the run in and then refuel with food that, strangely enough, tastes a lot better after a run. :)
I am still determined to do a morning workout. Tomorrow is a rest day, but on Saturday I hope to be able to write that I did my workout in the morning. Keeping a daily journal is definitely teaching me something about commitment. Not just writing a public journal, but writing one EVERY DAY, makes me think: "If I don't do this workout, I'll have to admit it in my public journal" or "I really want to be able to say to everyone that I did a workout first thing in the morning!"
It doesn't even matter whether 2 people or 200 people are reading. Keeping a journal and committing to writing in it every single day really makes you conscious of the goals you're committing to, and is a wonderful way to stay accountable to yourself! You can also look back and read your own words, and be happy about not only making progress, but the fact that it's a feat in itself to faithfully write an honest entry every day.
My strength training will be this evening. I plan to do abs, pushups, pullups, and lunges-- mainly a legs and shoulders day. I love this workout because it requires no equipment at all, except maybe a pullup bar.
Tomorrow's workout: REST! Phew!

Boy, I really am finding that doing the journal daily, especially this journal is helping me to be more consistent and more resolved to work at my issues and to try to discover what the heck it is that I am doing or not doing that is resulting in negative energy. I had a down period today but sat with it a while and then concentrated on this evenings outing with friends visiting from MI...great evening! Wishing you well on your plan....

Thank you! Ugh, I feel you on being down. Being with friends helps so much though. Congratulations on your heightened awareness, and keep journaling!

You need to maintain a strong core so concentrate on the situps. Very important in long distance running.

I like and agree what you say about how writing in your journal helps keep you honest and on goal.
Enjoy your rest day (Friday).
