Metaphorination

Metaphors come to me as naturally as security lights to a stormy afternoon. A sensor trips and off I go with metaphor on top of metaphor. I think of English as my second language. Sensory inputs are my first language. It smells like... It looks like... It feels like... It sounds like... It reminds me of... It would be a whole lot easier if I could just send the sensory inputs directly and skip the word plays altogether.
Buttttaaa...
Words are what I have to work with and I definitely need to mind my metaphors. They have been running away with me again... Like a runaway train on an every-which-way track.
