Met with liver specialist and found a wonderful acupuncturist
I had my appt with my liver specialist today and have to get an MRI this weekend before he gives me the "all clear" to do mini IVF. Great, just how I want to spend my Sunday, feeling claustrophobic in an MRI tube. Thank God for valium! lol. I started acupuncture yesterday with a new acupuncturist and I feel really good about it. I came across her by total accident - she is 2 short blocks from my office and get this - she specializes in IF!!! She has apparently helped over 300 women get pregnant, whether naturally or combined with IVF! And, a lot of these women were around my age. I have always loved acupuncture for the relaxing/meditative benefits, but have been skeptical if it actually helps with IF. I feel positive that this might help, and if nothing else, it's helping relax me and makes me feel like I'm putting some effort into helping maximize my chances of getting pregnant. Since we are taking this cycle off, I started with the OPK today (which is really also so I can feel like we're doing all we can) but I have no expectation of a natural BFP at this point. I also found out that my insurance company is now not going to cover the femara so I have to pay out of pocket. I'm going to try freedom since a few of you suggested that.
Overall, I am feeling excited to begin mini IVF and hopeful my first time will bring me my long-awaited BFP!

This is such great news. I couldn\'t wait to see how your appointment went. I think you made the right decision waiting to get the ok and going into it with a lot less stress. Accupucture will be great for you through this process. Hope everything looks great Sunday.

Sounds like things are falling into place. I think getting the all clear from the liver specialist was a good move. I used Apothecary Shoppe 877-792-7684 Becky x 3668 if you want to cross check prices. They are as good as Freedom and you may want to check.

This is great news! I am so happy that you get to go forward. I think you made the right choice getting the ok from the liver specialist first. This way you will be more relaxed and stress free for the mini IVF, especially with acupuncture. I say do anything and everything you can. I am rooting for you!
