ds just lost my journal and froze twice. i'm writing this december 31, but its after 7:00 p.m. so it posts as January 1.
Already had new year dinner at k's. had to switch everything around because of the car accident. i still need to go to the hospital. they give you two weeks to get your x-rays. billv was here and took my quilt. its okay, didn't really want it, but in the winter the animals use it. i had it in the carport. noticed it was gone this morning. looks better in there though. he had a big pile on the workbench. he is living somewhere quiet, don't remember where, i know its west of here. near where r works. he lost a lot of weight and he was already thin. the doctors are testing him to see what is wrong. his hair is totally white now. wth? i noticed this year, that everyone who had brown and gray hair in the passed five years, has now gone totally gray or white. i have to think, is that the person i know or is that their father. lol. very odd transition at the minute.
saw miked and he is putting together an estimate for the car. he says the insurance for the other side, is notoriously low and to get a lawyer if they don't come up with proper money. he says they let things sit a lot as well. so far they have been nice and showed up the day after the accident happened. the police give you a police report AT the accident site. amazing. "we've come a long way baby." lol. mike has a bunch of rescues where he used to work that all need fixing and transport and gave me who to talk to for both my car and who needs help. i hear him. he was very nice and supportive. his wife places out kittens at the school where she works.
dropped off goodies for rn after that. she is still ill. just little stuff that i would have given her anyway, one in a christmas bag. she is sick with flu and still babysitting which is crazy! don't know how she does it. kind of morbid this holidays season, all kinds of stuff happening.
went to k's after that for new year dinner. the stand on his tree broke so keep on a look out for it. the tree is on the floor because of that and he prefers it on the table. its a good size tree so it looks good either way. we had meatballs and angel hair pasta, chocolate cream pie, salad, wine, and i brought evan williams eggnog (with bourban). i wanted cold duck and they didn't have it. grrr. fell asleep and soaked my back, checked on the animals - there is a missing bottle of fishmox - fish antibiotics that we use for the animals and according to m, rg stole it from my purse or car. m is the one who gave it to me to begin with. so another thief! i hate thieves. he will then blame the assholes who used to be at petsmart. hmmm, well, you are over 18 rg, so i don't think you can blame ANYONE. unreal. but its holidays, so i'll wait before i start with that one - or k can.
then went to drop off at sh, she has donkey salve and apple flavored sulpha powder (that is actually bactrim) bought in a tub its actually way cheaper than by capsule. its for all animals and says cats too. so that is for louie, who has something going on with his neck and weight loss. grrrrr. mikeL was there, so we ended up hanging out until 3 a.m. not smart. but fun to hang out. they need to do a 501 on their nursing home until it sells. i totally love that place, as its 9000 square feet and one acre and its all fenced in areas for the various animals. people can have pets there and they should promote that part more. i think they are just too burned out after doing it for fifteen years and just want to sell. they work 7 days. you can't live like that. hope the medicine works, she says it worked for their donkey. the farm animals aren't at the facility but they visit, cool nursing home. she has new personnel and she says they all come and go. she also claims the person who feeds colony where she does isn't the same as the one from the pet supply place, so back to, need to work something out to neuter all that is there. surprised it wasn't handled sooner. had no idea.
headed to the marina to watch fireworks. the weather is decent 60's by day and 50's now.

Food you had sounds scrumptious! I had forgotten all about Cold Duck till you mentioned it! I don\'t drink, but I used to on holidays. We always had Cold Duck....took me back a few years to great Florida memories!! xox
Cold Duck is my favorite for bubbly, even though its super cheap. i ended up getting the last bottle at super walmart, so got it in my fridge, i like drinking it with chocolates, which i got from el again this year. he also brought rum bundt cake as well, which is fabulous. he\'s very generous. his wife gets over-gifted where she works - so every year they end up with a surplus of white wine, cash and then various chocolates and baked goods. too much to consume. they are the ones that do meat fondues for either new year or one of the large holidays (don\'t remember which). good idea though. they eat duck for holidays, also different. he says turkey is too gamey, (i agree with that) and chicken is too ordinary. actually no fowl for new year isn\'t it? nothing that flies or goes backwards, like lobster....though i have friends from scandinavia and they eat lobster almost every holiday just like we do.
rg is the second person to steal antibiotic from my purse or car. the other one is a former \"corrupt\" cop, jm, (asked to resign) who even now, goes into people\'s property without permission (that is what happens when things are handled \"internally\" they get into other positions of \"trust\" and they can\'t be trusted. if this was egypt he\'d already have his hands chopped off and then it wouldn\'t continue happening. our system doesn\'t work. never did. never will. what is even sicker is people like that since they weren\'t properly tortured for what they do, will then think stealing IS the right thing to do. similar to the dyalisis killer, she thinks killing her dialysis patients on purpose is \"normal\" since she didn\'t go to jail (\"the evidence got \"lost\" -- sure it did.)
