Mental Health Research

I would like to correspond with others about the latest in mental health research.
Example-----what causes a panic attack?

Gooch, if you have access to online articles, here is an abstract from a pubmed article that I think is pretty good explaination. Would seem that the anxiety any event could produce panic and then in turn cause you to expect axiety and panic, leading to panic disorder and panic attacks. At least that is my take on it;. I can get the whole article from school but the link would not work for you. This pub med link should work enough for you to read the abstract anyway.

Hope this is helpful.

Sorry, Gooch. I think that article was 2001 so I don\'t know if you would say it is the LATEST in research but I still think it is a good and reasonble article about panic disorder and anxiety. IMO anyway.

Edward J Bourne has written alot about panic and has a workbook out too. I found it helpful.

... I think this proves that not much has come out as \"new\" in the last 10 years.... I keep hearing from my phy. that there is some promising work being done but he has been saying that since 2000. The VA has been working hard on better treatments for PTSD which could help us all but nothing yet. I\'m not holding my breath.....

does it help to explore what your fears are?
