memory fading
As most of you know, I get my income from selling on ebay and on amazon and everywhere in between.
I always took pride in remembering things when I had to, especially when it came to numbers and orders for my wood products in particular. I overlooked 2 orders from 2 payments of 2 weeks ago and was extremely pissed at myself.
Here these people are waiting for their wood which never comes and they have to put up with a seller who forgot all about them. To me it's intolerable what I did. So I packaged one guys order today after I discovered the error and thats going out in tomorrow's mail.
The other one was a pretty good sized order and after finding that today, I had no inventory left to fill it so I had to write him an email and tell him he will have to wait another week untill my next load arrives. I am sure he will be pissed, I know I would be.
I definitely need to start writing things down. Forgeting someone, to me, is intolerable. I have had more inquiries and sent out more bids in the last 2 weeks then I have had in the last 2 years! With the help of one large order, I broke my all time record for highest grosing month in 12 years. So things are looking up but I need to get better organized.
Just hard on myself is all and tired from trying to reach my goal of running at least 3 miles a day for 3 weeks straight. I have done 5 days and have 16 more to go.
By the way, if anyone is interested, I have 500 board feet of red oak for sale....will give you a good deal :)

Bob, for one your memory is not fading. You are one very healthy man. I tend to forget things too even I am not busy. Not being able to forget something is expecting yourself to be read few pages of book once and able to dictate it back word by word. Our brains processes thousands of thoughts every day. It\'s time to invest in tackboard or post it notes or a journal or use your calendar software in your computer. I have monthly sheet for my finances so I can schedule my payables in a month as I tend to forget. And I have daily sheet for my tasks need to be done. Sometimes I write it here so I can journal at the same time, and justify what I need to do. Just some organization is all you need. And that is crucial for a growing business - organization. Do whatever works. Congratulations on the good business you\'re having (I\'m sure Precious is very happy with her steak dinners) and also with discipline in running :)
Dude, i write everything down, can\'t stand it when i forget someone or something.
Oh, & really happy for you breaking your records the way you have, that\'s huge, big hugs
I have made short lists almost daily forever! This world is so full of activity and distractions. Enjoy your success. Do not get upset with yourself!
I tend to agree with reallyshaken, start some type of organization technique that will help you remember these type of business things. Organization is crucial for a growing business, or any business for a matter of fact. Don\'t be so hard on yourself, everyone makes mistakes and those buyers from ebay will just have to wait. Hopefully your product \"wows\" them and they leave good feedback for you. If not, don\'t you have an opportunity to leave your own feedback into the order and what happened? Hopefully once you start a process of accountability for your orders, this won\'t happen again. I\'m glad that your business is expanding - especially in today\'s economy. You need to grow with it too.
Continued good luck with your running!
Yeah baby! Sell, sell, sell. eh, we are all human. Good thing you found the mistake. Mistakes can be fixed. You\'ll be alright - don\'t be so hard on yourself. Atta boy!!!
write everythng down .....I do!!
