Memorial at our Church in Anderson, In

Hey Ken, We made the trip to Anderson...brought back lots of memories.  The camp grounds are still in the same place as we parked in 1980.  It has changed a lot though.  The campus is hugh.  The big dome building that held over 100,000 people was torn down, large building to relplace it has been built to hold all the people.  Fred was just totally amazed at it all.  He said it just really made one feel connected to the church.
A surprise was that Warner University was having their get together Monday nite and I was so happy, although since it had been years since I had been there, I didn't expect to see anyone I knew.  WRONG!!!  First one I saw was Art and his wife, then wow was I so surprised when Vickie walked up behind me and gave a big hug, she looks the same so pretty, then there were more people I knew and the biggest of all surprises was Dr Ellis and his wife.  What a wonderful surprise it was good to see them.  They remember us all and of couse said they were so sorry to know that mom had lost you, but they knew you were in Heaven watching us.  So the evening was outstanding.  We got back to the motel around 11, of course they are one hour ahead of us and we didn't get away from  home until around 3:00 p.m. so we hit the bed for an early morning.
We went back over to the campus and walked around, we took pictures, oh and in Park Place Church where a lot of things are held now has this small most beautiful chapel in it.  It would be a nice place to have a wedding, so cozy and so sweet.  We went back to the motel and got ready for the memorial.
Emotions ran high this afternoon.  First I had to go get a book that was for you, well for family members and then a packet with booklets in it with all the minister's that had gone on to their Heavenly Home this past year and a few this  year.  We met a lot of wonderful people.  The church was packed.  It was a beautiful  ceremony.  They read each person's name and how many year they had been in the ministry and they put the picture of each one on these two big screen then if you knew were a family member or they had touched your life in someway your stood up to represent them.  Of couse we stood for Uncle Don, and Dr Clark and there was some more I think I knew but was not sure.  Then up came your name and picture's .  We stood Fred and I and we looked around and there were several people standing for you my wonderful son, but then the tears started flowing.  After the last name was called they had all the family member's to stand and we all walked out and as we did they had the rest of the crowd clap their hands in rememberence of all the ministry's.  It was more clapping than I had ever heard and everyone smiled at us as we walked the long alise out of the church.  Fred was crying his eyes out and so was mom.  Then we were standing there and here come running Mark and we hugged and hugged.  He said he was so sorry and regretted so much not being able to be at your memorial, he said he loved you so much as so does everyone.
Ken it was just so special and so meaningful.  Mom was so proud of you as I was the day you were ordained.  I was also so very sad but so happy to have gotten to be a part of this wonderful memorial.  They gave us books with your pictures in it to.....It was really really special..........I LOVE YOU SON WITH EVER BEING OF MY HEART....YOUR LOVING MOM.......FOREVER KENNETH LEE WESTERFIELD'S MOM...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... lrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
