Meeting Dr. Coulter
Rheumy says Mr. Plaquenil is slacking off. He upped the dose 20 mg. Hope that perks him up a bit.
Rheumy puts me on Hydrocodone.
Rheumy runs more blood tests (one can never have too many tests). Explains to me there is a difference between Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease and Lupus. Well, maybe to a Rheumatalogists there is.
Rheumy doesn't seem to like my GP's course of action, or lack there of. I show him my beloved iPad. (side note: calendar is awesome for tracking pain, meds, butt troubles, etc. Little bullet points, very easy to read) He does not agree to me taking Imodium as long as I need to, no problem. He wants to know what is causing butt troubles.
So now I am on my way to a consult with Dr. Coulter. It snowed 3 inches last night and I get to drive 19.7 miles to his office to meet him. I'm a little leary. I have to have a colonoscopy, yeah me. Does anyone else find it creepy that a guy would spend so much time and money going to school to spend his life looking up peoples butts?

I\'ve had 2 colonoscopys for the years. I guess it\'s just one of those things in life that has to be. I\'ve found too that some of one\'s dr\'s might not necessarily agree with other dr\'s you have & it\'s hard to establish what might really be best for you. Just make sure anything you\'re maybe not comfortable with you don\'t hesitate to discuss it with them in length.
There is some serious money in arses and bowel cancer is very common so have that colonoscopy, we all should everycoupleofyears. Notthat ihave,but was told by a pathologist thatweshouldregularlybechecked. Hate iPad keyboard
You have a very good sense of humor. I\'ve had the old colonoscopy over 5 years ago and they found a precancer polyp-a fast spreading type of cancer. I\'m supposed to have one done every 3 years, oops. Different gastro\'s have different preps for this. If you have to take the pill the day before you drink the thick stuff, don\'t make plans for the day. I was trying to work and was too sick to wait tables anymore so I started delivering pizza\'s. You do not want to be doing that when the pill hits. Oh my. Never again, but makes for a funny story.
I know another woman that didn\'t have to drink all that stuff, just one pill. My sis is a surgical tech and they give the first pill, the fluid, then flush them out right before the procedure. Thank goodnes I didn\'t have to do that one. The worst part of a colonoscopy is the prep, surgery is nothing.
I too have a pain in the butt, and other symptoms. I\'ve had 3 of those, my mom calls that one up periscope. They have never found anything to cause my symptoms. Clean and pink and pretty. I even watched one of them being done. Thank God I was numb, it was interesting. The procedure is no problem even if they take tissue samples. But, oh that prep is hell on wheels.
