meeting

The meeting with the Assistant Principal at the high school went well.  I didn't particularly have anything to ask of him or tell him but I know that he would be interested.  He loved the program I showed him on my laptop but suggested I might need to condense it, which I've been thinking about all along. My husband and my pastor both didn't think so when I asked but....we won't know how long it will take until we practice it. We need to keep it to an hour and a half to allow time for questions and answers. Now that this is becoming more of a reality.....I am getting rather nervous.  I would feel better once I get the the "bells-n-whistles" added.   At the very end of our meeting, the Principal knocks and sticks his head in the door.  I was embarrassed because (here goes my paranoia) I didn't include him.  He never seemed interested and I was tired of suggesting things when he didn't do anything about it.  Fortunately, I did have a thank you card on hand with a gift card to give him.  Whew!  It was heartfelt and I meant what I said in the card but....I also have negative feelings toward him because he always seemed distant to me.  Silly to even concern myself about something like this but ....it is what it is.....  Oh - just found out that one of T's long, time good friends who has had the same issues as T, overdosed on heroin (is currently in a coma) over the holiday weekend at a concert in Michigan.  Not the same state he lives in either.  Poor family and, of course, poor Ryan.  Even though T has been friends with him on and off since preschool, I never really got to know him.  Whenever I did see him - he always said hi to me with a smile.  It breaks my heart.   T mentioned this concert to us -telling us most of his friends attended, but he knew enough not to ask us for money for it.  Guess the kids camp and all.
