Hope your doctor can help. Make sure you are eating healthy. A good variety of vegetables in case you’re low on a vitamin and mineral that could be effecting you. I’m not a fan of vitamin supplements as I feel that it’s better to get them in our diet. But I’ve been low on potassium or sodium and had muscle twitch. I make a veg miso soup once a week with some seaweed and that’s full of it.
Hydrate too! Both of these symptoms can be dehydration.
Totally agree with FAN....try eating a banana for potassium...I do this when I get leg/foot cramps. If you have a dollar store by you, they sell pediatric hydration, lots cheaper than grocery store!...I dilute my drinks by 1/2 water/1/2 hydration as I have to watch how much I take in of minerals.
Your thyroid could also be the culpit of low energy. As far as psy dx'ing you, my lady that I clean for has a partner with dimentia and he sees a neurologist who I would think is more qualified for a dx. Did you know that brain fog is a symptom of dehydration??? If you haven't had a full physical...include full blood work up, plus thyroid, kidney function...ask for a referal to neurologist.... I'd go that route before taking 'in' a psy 'maybe dx'
From what you have written about learning, and active life style, just sounds fishy to me.

Is this muscle spasms? If yes, try Theraworxx magnesium cream as it works fabulous for me. I also use electrolyte replacement drinks, from the health food store, the powdered kind.
Double check before worrying about dementia. Ask the psychiatrist exactly what you diagnosed with. If you do have early dementia, this is a concern for sure! I wish you the best.
Don’t make yourself sick by fretting over something you don’t have clear, direct information from the psychiatrist about.
PS: did your psychiatrist send you to get a bunch of cognitive tests? Did you have any brain imaging?
If no, I don’t believe one can be officially diagnosed with dementia. I used to work with older adults so I have some awareness of the disease and diagnostic process. Some adults do get early Alzheimer’s in their 40’s and 50’s and it’s pretty life limiting. I hope this does not describe you!
I've had symptoms of dimentia since high school I could never find my class room people had to walk me around. Also it wasn't just a twitch it was like it had a seizure. I'm going to the doctor on the 24 th.
