Med insurance
I went to a meeting for retirees about our medical benefits for the coming year. The good news is that our benefits are about the same. The bad news is that it will cost a bit more. However, since I have been approved for medicare due to my disabillities starting in December, my cost would drop just a bit then. Now I know that there are a lot of medicare supplement insurances out there, but I decided to stay with what I have with our PPO. The medigap for prescription drugs would be very expensive for me, given the drugs I'm on. I prefer knowing what my costs are month to month.Staying with what I have allows me to know what my costs will be. So as it stands now, I will be paying about $50 more a month for Oct and Nov. However, when my medicare kicks in, I'll be paying about $100 less and this is counting my premium for Medicare Part B. So my health insurance will be a bit les this year overall. Cool beans. I hope I haven't been too confusing. In the end, I have the same coverage and the same doctorsfor a little less money. Personally, I have been starting out my days full of gumption and energy. But (isn't there always a but) by mid afternoon I'm pooped. I guess I'll have to take care of business early each day. Be well,Tom
