Meanness
Hi, my friends, I wrote what I thought was a balanced contemplation of adoption on my blog (www.achievingconceiving.blogspot.com) and someone wrote a nasty comment to it the other day. She said that I was really snobby since I cared about having a biological child, and that it's good that I "sit childless" because I'd be a terrible mother. The thing is, I don't think she read my post very carefully, because she seemed to have misunderstood what I said. So if she reacted so violently, I should not let it get to me. But really, which of us needs to be told that we'd be a bad mother and that it's better that we don't have children? I want to give Ashley a special thanks for sticking up to me in the comments section. It's nice to have friends who understand how you feel. And I thank GOD for Daily Strength and all of you. Support and giving each other the benefit of the doubt are so much better than attacks. I hope everybody out there had a good mother's day and didn't suffer too much. Kay

I read your blog, and it was obviously misinterpreted by a very mean spirited and self-centered individual. Nobody deserves to be told they would be a terrible mother, least of all one who is willing such as you to go to the ends of the earth to conceive one.
It always angers me that people think they have the right to say \" you can always adopt.\" I still get this comment from those who know we turned to IVF to conceive our child. Besides being such a personal decision, adoption is so much more complicated than it appears.
Wow, that made my heart beat fast with anger- I posted a comment to her, but hopefully I wasn\'t too mean back... What a jerk. I\'m sorry she did that, I hope she is too. Ugh! Don\'t listen to that Laura person...she\'s got her own issues and is taking them out on you.
I cannot believe someone would actually be that cruel to write something like that. Nobody knows exactly what we go through. They don\'t understand. We always dream of having biological children of our own, but that doesn\'t mean we are not open to other things. My husband and I have turned toward adoption and it has taken us a process to get to this point. All through our struggles people have said have you thought about adoption. of course we have thought about it, but that doesn\'t mean we are ready for it. I think that is one of the worst things someone can say to you when are going through this process. I\'ve actually had someone say to me now that we have chosen adoption. Why do you want kids you seem to be happy without them. The things people say. Just ignore people like that and go with whatever you are comfortable with.
I cannot believe the gall of some people. I just read your blog and I think that Laura missed school the day they taught reading comprehension. Doesn\'t she know you have to read the entire enrty before forming an opinon. Some people just baffle me. I thought your blog was very well written.
