Meaningless
there are a number of verses in Eccesiastes that say how life, or doing certain things in life, is all meaningless. This is just how I feel right now. I feel that I've invested so much in my family, and for what?
I've given my husband emotional, financial, and career support, and he's stuck where he's always been. What I've given means nothing.
I've given my son love, discipline, help, therapy, meetings with teachers, and he insists on his rebellion. What I've given means nothing.
I've loved my daughter very much and have tried to raise her right. Her grades are excellent and she is involved in some positive things. But I'm afraid of the other shoe dropping with her.
Even my faithful dog--no matter what I do he still is growling at anyone who comes to visit! He loves the family very much though. Too much, sometimes.
On a separate note, I had an accident on Monday night. I had just finished filling up my car with gas & after getting in the car & putting on my gloves, a delivery truck pulled in front of me & clipped my front right corner! I saw it coming, but I thought he'd stop before it was too late! But he didn't & I honked the horn before he could go any further (I couldn't back up, because I hadn't even started the car). That worked.
His insurance info wasn't even current. But it was a commercial truck, so they probably are insured. But I can't get thru to their insurance, so I have to pay my deductible & rental car & my insurance will have to subrogate. I have to pick up the police report tomorrow morning & hopefully it will reflect the truth (that it was the other car at fault), so the subrogation will be successful.
Good news is the frame is not cracked. But it will take a few days. then I have to do normal wear & tear repairs on the suspension before Christmas. Hopefully we'll get our Christmas bonus this year.
Again, though, I was sitting there doing nothing & I still get whacked. Meaningless!
