Me & my blasts
Yesterday, my husband drove me & my full bladder the 30 minutes to the RE clinic. I peed before I left the house, sipped a water bottle on the way there, and I was STILL bursting by the time they were ready to do the transfer. I had to go to the bathroom twice to empty out because I knew it was too uncomfortable and I'd never be able to lie down for the required 30 minutes following the procedure. Glad I did! I would never have made it!
We had 6 of the 7 fertilized embryos still kicking; but 4 of those hadn't actually developed to the blastocyst stage. I have to call the clinic today, but the doc did NOT think they'd be ready for freezing on Day 6. That was a bummer, but not the end of the world. So, as per our plan, he transferred the 2 good quality blastocysts. (The plan was to only transfer ONE, as long as I had two or more available for freezing. But I didn't; so, this was Plan B). The procedure was a piece of cake. But now I get this tightness in my chest every time I look at the image of our blasts. I hope they've got the right "stuff" to survive. I will do what I can on my end, but that's only so much. They need to be viable and strong. Please, just let ONE of them hang on at least. Please, oh please.
And now we wait...
Beta is next week Wednesday. Did any of you guys crack and take a HPT beforehand? I'm tempted to do so on Sunday or Monday, but I know it won't be doing me any favors.

I am hoping for a BFP for you!! I had a very similar IVF story and we weren\'t able to freeze any but transferred 2. I am now pregnant and I hope the same for you!! We had 2 placentas but only one actually made it to make a baby.. I was a little sad to see that empty placenta with no peanut in it but I am so happy for the one that I do have. I am now almost 14 weeks. I would say don\'t do the home HPT but totally up to you. I am rooting for you!!!
Happy PUPO! I\'m so excited for you. I hope that the others catch up and you get to freeze them, but I hope more that you don\'t even need to worry about it :)
I did end up doing a HPT the day before my beta, but only because I was home from work and if it was bad news, I wanted it at home. Otherwise I would have gotten the call about our beta mid day at work.
I hope you get your BFP! And I hope this next 1.5 weeks goes by super quick! Keep us posted!
So exciting! I totally remember that bursting feeling lol I don\'t know who can last that time laying down without going to the bathroom first.?!? I wanted to test the morning of so my DH would find out the same time I did but he wanted to wait for when he got home from work. So we didn\'t test early but do whatever works for you! ;) good luck!! Hoping for a BFP for you!!
Of COURSE I\'ll keep you posted! :)
I called the IVF nurse today to ask about the 4 other embryos, but they didn\'t make it. For some reason, I\'m okay with that reality, but I really don\'t want to go back to square one and start this whole process over again. I thought I\'d really be grieving the fact that I won\'t have my 37 year old eggs from this cycle on ice, but it is what it is. Maybe I\'m more accepting of it because I still have hope for these 2 blastocysts. That\'s really all I need. Everything I need is right here with me now.
P.S.: I also love that DS highlights certain keywords like \"hope,\" and that you ladies mentioned that word a zillion times in your comments! :)
\"Hope\" is the word of the week! I \"hope\" it\'s enough! ;)
Congratulations on your transfer - that\'s awesome news! I\'ll be sending lots of good vibes your way! My first beta is Saturday. Not nervous yet, but I\'m sure it will come. Take it easy and enjoy this feeling!
Congrats on being PUPO!
I always POAS - not that it did me any good because when I finally got my BFP it was too low to register on an HPT. I did get my DD finally though.
Good luck to you! To have two blasts to transfer is awesome!
Congratulations on your transfer! Here\'s hoping the next week goes quickly, easily, and you get fantastic results at the end!!
Happy PUPO! I\'ll be praying for you and your littles. Props to you if you end up taking an HPT; I was too chicken to do so :)
