Maybe a start?

I spoke with our psych dr. the other day about Jeffrey again. She thinks that a lot of his anger issues are tied to the anxiety problems he's been having and I agree. He's developed a lot worse OCD since high school (2 years now) and he gets paranoid about losing his hair and makes me check it to reassure him over and over. Plus he's a hypochondriac. When I was talking with her we realized that a lot of this started small when he stopped taking his lunch time pills. He figured he didn't need them at work, it was different than school and he seemed ok at first. The anxiety started sneaking up and frustration built into anger problems ---all probably because of partially untreated ADHD. !!!!I should have seen it sooner. He used to be off the wall when he was younger. He was always my kid that I had to focus on the most. It's just that by the time he reached graduation and then he found a decent job I figured he was doing okay for now.And then Sarah's problems got huge and took all my focus and stressed me out. And he reacted to all that too -- a bit of jealousy over my time and attention and he's always been the barometer of my stress level -- if I'm stressed he's squirrelly and hard to live with. (like I need that). So we figured out what's been going on...so now what?We came up with a plan that we thought he would go along with. He's resistant to anything that has to do with anger management or that seems directed at placing blame on him.So last night I spoke with him about how we thought it might help his anxiety and OCD if he went back to taking his lunch pills consistently, that when they build up in his system they help calm his nerves and help him relax. He liked that idea and agreed (!!!!).I didn't mention that a nice little bonus of that is that his anger level should also decrease. The important thing is that he agreed (!) and even thanked me for working on this for him with the doctor. Please God, let this help! We need something.
