Getting ready for my trip to Denver Colorado this weekend. I am going to visit my sister and her husband for 7 days. I am so excited to go. Its been way too long since I've went. I think it was back in 2004. They were here during thanksgiving but I monopolized their whole trip by taking them for all my dr visits when I had breast cancer, before my lumpectomy. Felt bad that I had to do that, but they didn't mind at all.
my brother (who is 41) works for a company that sends him out to the west coast a lot. Its kinda hard to explain what he really does but I know that he goes up to these radio towers and maintains them. Sometimes he scouts out for locations. He drives around and around. The company pays for everything - hotels, flights and meals. He does get frequent flyer miles. He was concerned that I haven't gone anywhere and stayed home for vacations. He gave me some frequent flyer miles to use to see Kelly and Dan. The bad part of it all is that I planned on going right on mothers day. Poor timing. After I finished house sitting for my parents (in March) and taking care of my brothers boarder collie Scout. He booked the trip for me. It only cost him $10.00 for the processing fee. Not too bad.
I have never flown southwest. Apparently, I have to self check myself 24 hours before. So, I leave sunday at 9am then I have to check in on the internet at 9am saturday. I think this has something to do with assigning seats. The lower the # the better odds I would get a better seat. I am alittle nervous about doing this. Once I get this done and checked in witha lower #, I will feel better about this.
I am actually looking forward to seeing the mountains. Doing alittle hiking possibly. Hanging around with my sister and husband, maybe alittle shopping. Just doing things to keep busy. I probably will need a vacation after a vacation.
My sister graduated with me in High school. She is 43 and I am 44. I should have graduated in 1984 but my parents held me back in the 1st grade (they thought I had a learning disability! today's teachers/parents would not let a kid stay behind). So I graduated in 1985. She was such a goody tooshoes in school. I was more quiet and shy (sort of am now but have grown out of it mostly - I am alittle more outgoing). I consider myself kinda laid back. We were both involved with the music department. I played clarinet and she played the cello. We were both in orchestra and played 1st chair in each of our sections during our junior and senior years.
I have to bring yearbooks out there because my sister has our 25th reunion class and we have a website that she wants to post pictures from them. This is from 7th, 9th, 10th and 11th grades. Lots of incrimidating pictures, especially the 7th grade year book from 1980. LOL!! A lot of people are gonna kill us. Can't wait to do this with her. These are her set of books. I have mine here.
