May 4, 2011 - exercise update
Good morning everyone,
I wound up calling in sick yesterday. I had some flu like symptoms overnight that caused me to be up 1/2 the night. I was nervous that I needed to go to the ER but I eventually relaxed and fell asleep. I was extremely groggy when I got up so I called Sonja and Jen (MY MANAGER). I am feeling 100% better today and will be seeing the nephrologist tomorrow morning. I will bring it up and see what he says about it. Not sure if its PKD related because its still flu season here in Western NY. If I have the same issues in July, then I know something isn't right. Will see what happens.
I did not get to the gym yesterday. I decided to take it easy. Since I am feeling much better, I am going tonight and do my treadmill work (40 min at 5.0 speed, 2.5 grade for 1 min 30, 0.00 for 1 min 30, 1 min walk). I will be working out 2 days in a row. Tomorrow is group run.
Back to eating my salads every other day for lunch and having a fruit and veg for 3 pm snack. I weighed myself and only lost a 1/2 lb or 181.5. I didn't do good with the diet last week but trying again now. I plan on eating my salad for lunch. I usually have a carb day for my exercise day. Will see what happens when I go tonight and attempt my 40 minute treadmill workout. I don't know how the other 3 did on my weight loss team. I need to send a quick email to Todd and Mary to go weigh. I don't see Todd in today and Mary is probably upstairs. Lori I think got weighed in already but didn't catch up to her to see what she did. I told her what I did and it made her extremely nervous. Seemed like everyone around me getting weighed (there was about 7 of us), lost about a pound, 1/2 pound a few lost about 3. It will be interesting to see what the Neuro manager and OR manager lost. Last weigh in they lost 10 and 13 lbs a piece. Will they do it again?
Sundays walk was really good. I need to expand the walk by about 1/2 mile in the next few weeks. Its becoming really easy now. When I got back from my walk, I had a baby bird in my basement. I got my landlord from next door to help me with the bird. He flew right out the door no problems. He was this little thing - perhaps a baby. Not sure how he got in but maybe throug the dryer vent.
the Landlord told me that he got new tenants for the other side. A young couple with a 8 month old with 2 cats. He seemed to be pleased with them. I do hope they workout in the long run. they seem to run the same path as I did - coming from south of the city and moving up northeast of Buffalo toward the airport. I sure hope they are nice. Will find out in about a month - I will let you know the details. He is moving out the 3rd week of this month (around the 17-18) so I will be the only one there for 2 weeks until June 1. Im sure they got permission to start moving things early.

That\'s awful that you were sick. I\'m glad you are feeling so much better now. You are doing great on your workouts. Keep up the good work. You will get there in no time. I wish you luck on your weight loss. The neighbors will probably be fine, but you never know. Hopefully they are really nice and cool.
