Hi everyone,
I am not allowed to be on DS at work no longer.  I had my review earlier in the week.  It was ok.  I find Jen being extremely critical with a lot of what is on the report.   She gave me a ton of 2 out of 4's.  I know, she is alot different than Rosanna ever was.  She probably don't dish out those 3 and 4's, but is looking to find improvements on me.  I certainly hope this doesn't affect my pay raise (cost of living).  I think I work extremely hard and I do what I can - sometimes I can't dance fast enough with these instructors.  I sometimes want to punch Mary,  She isn't a bad neighbor but alot of things that were said in the review, I think came from her.  I really need to watch every move I make when it comes to her.  Even when I try doing something, she said that I need to "own up" whatever I do.  When I deal with her crap, she gives me this dissatisfied look (she use to be a nursing manager).   Its like I take 2 steps forward with her and then 3 steps back.  Its so ridiculous, it isn't even funny.  I don't think I will ever win with Mary, to her its her way or the highway.  I think if it was up to her, I wouldn't even be around.  She is one of those "nice to your face" but also "backstabs you behind your back".   The ones that I really got along with are now leaving at the end of next month.  Diana is leaving because her sick mother needs her help and moving back down to Mississippi (I heard that if she wasn't leaving, she would have been fired due to missed punches - Jen had me check her time when I worked good friday). Then Renee is going back to the ER.  Mostly everyone is pretty good, or has been better.  Sonja, is doing ok so far - we are leaning on eachother because Arlene is still at Buffalo General covering for another admin who is out until mid June due to back surgery.  Kelly has been extremely good.  She is kind (no wonder she was nurse of distinction).  Bonnie,  about 80% of the time she is extremely good to me but there are certain times, she can get really stressed.  For instance, this week, I had Sonja enter something in our learning management system that Bonnie wanted in.  For some reason, we only received a copy but the original was somewhere.  It was put back in her box, she came into my office - like a vengence and asked me why it was put into her box and that I should have received it (extremely snippy).  I have no idea where that came from, especially since Sonja emailed her to let her know she entered the CPR revalidation in.  Whatever.  1/2 the time I roll everything off my back.  When your an admin assistant dealing with 8 different personalities of nurse eduators - its never easy.  Many times, I bat "0".  This week, I made up new sign in sheets for restraint revalidation over at Buffalo General.  I made 31 sign in sheets (31 units) with RN, PCA and NA's names on it.  I busted my butt to get it done.  Meanwhile, I have about 5 things that are backlogged.  Thank god my phone doesn't ring constantly.  With Arlene gone to Buffalo General for the next 3 weeks, Sonja and I are sharing the phones (her line).   Judy and Denise are both off on Disability for the next month.  Judy fell and broke her arm.  I usually get paperwork and rosters together for the Advanced Life support class the day before.  No!  Mary wanted me to get this done now.  I didn't because I had 5 other things to do.  She is just gonna have to wait until I come back Tuesday (the next class is June 2, next thursday).  Its good to be organized but I don't do the roster this early, there might be someone who drops out within a week (they would get no refund at this point).  Whatever.  Denise is off on Disability due to illness.  I think she comes back a few days after Judy gets back.  Each of our educators at Millard Gates Hospital have been going over and following their new RN orients, doing CPR redemo's and glucometer revalidations (glucometer is a finger stick - its a machine to check blood, its only valid for so long and they have to get revalidated by the instructor then the blood lab, Aronia you know what I am talking about).
Anyways - the saying goes, I will be on DS in the evenings now since being on DS is "bad for the department image".  Jeesh.....  At least I am not on FACEBOOK.  I can't tell you how many people who are on facebook within our hospital system.  Its just crazy.  At least DS is medical related.    I think its better to be on that instead of something else.  I personally think 1/2 the shit that comes down, is from Mary.  I need to keep my eyes peeled when it comes to her.  What I need to do is to stay away from her when we get over to Buffalo General, hoping her office is away from mine.  Millard Gates Hospital is closing on 3/31/12.   Eventually both Millard Gates and Buffalo general will merge together under one roof.  Should be interesting to see how this transpires.  We have so many files that need to be gone through.  Especially, the transcripts that are from the old Millard Gates school of nursing.  They are all downstairs in the basement.  Me, Arlene and Sonja need to go down there and box them all up and send them to the archive department so they can deal with transcripts (the archive dept already does the old Buffalo general school of nursing).  I joked with them that we need the orkin man on standby just incase there are critters there.  Sonja said she needs to check out the situation before she goes down there. LOL!!  Whatever it is, its gonna be a huge job by itself.
Well, I was gonna write about my 5k Training.  Its going ok.  I am doing more incline work now.  Hopefully it will payoff eventually.  Nothing new to report on that.  2 more weeks before the corporate challenge 3.5 run.  I just registered yesterday - $15.00.
I will check back with everyone on monday.  Have a wonderful memorial day.  God bless those who live near Joplin MO, especially with the distruction in the midwest.  I count my blessings being here in Buffalo NY.  We might have a ton of snow in November-March each year but we do not have those hurricanes and tornados that flattens towns, cities.  I sincerely hope everyone is ok!
Love ya!!
