May 20th is the DAY!

Much as I loved the idea of getting chicks from someone local, I have officially given up on that!  I just ordered them mail-order from a hatchery in Cincinnati, Ohio.  I had to get 25, but shipping was only $8.00--I can do that!  The other place wanted $30... Now, I'm back to Rhode Island Red pullets only, but it wilL be fine.  They don't arrive until May 20th, so I have more time to get organize and grow grass around the chicken coop.  It will also be much warmer then which is a great side-effect to waiting... It will be a while, but it will be here before I know it!!!  I'M SO EXCITED!

Fabulous! I can\'t wait to see \'real\' pictures of them. I\'m not a chicken fan cause the fly at me and make me nervous! Guess I really am more of a city girl! ooxx

How can you stand the heat? I like the chicken idea. TW5 is getting some, so you both will have fresh eggs.
I guess things are going well for you? You sound spunky?
