I made all my dr appts that I need to do. Getting the car inspected on monday. I usually take it to the same place every year. They are really nice guys at the garage. It might be alittle out of my way now but I still want to give them their business. NYS gets new license plates starting this year. I hear its optional. My registration expires in July this year (seems like the rest of the world is on the odd years). We shall see if thats correct. I don't mind being on the even years.
I called for my urologist appt. Not sure what he or she will have to say but probably refer me to a nephrologist. why do drs always send you places where they can't help you. I had the same problem before I started radiation, when I went to the oncologist. She couldn't help me either. I will just play their game and go with the flow. I see the urologist on 6/3. They are right down the street from home. Its after work. Then I called for my CT scan appt. Turns out they want with and without contrast. Jeez...more IV treatments. Fun! Thought I was done with that when I had the breast cancer and the MRI prior to my lumpectomy. Never fails. I made a very late appt on 5/27 at 8pm. they want me to drink this barium drink. I told them that I would just come an hour early and drink it there. Might as well. So I will get there at 7pm. I just want to get all of this over with. My nurse educator, Kelly referred a good nephrologist in the area - she personally knows her and worked with her at our suburban northtown hospital when she was on the nursing floor. She is a decent physician, I hope she can help me with my PKD. I will call their office when I am finished with the urologist.
Spent all day at work working on Advanced Life support materials and rosters. Cards? I didn't get the chance to work on the previous class from a few weeks ago. Tomorrow is another day. I will do them in the morning and bring them up to Judy so she can sign them while she's on break. Some of the participants in the March class claimed they never received their card. I had to do them all over again. So she has 2 classes of cards to do (about 40). I am just so sick and tired of people calling stating they didn't receive their cards when in fact, I did them. I think tomorrow before I bring the cards up, I will copy them so there won't be any mistake. I really hate when they call from a January class stating they never receive it. If I get one more email from someone from a previous class from say (January or March), I will charge them $5.00 replacement fee. they can't just tell me 5 months later that they never receive it, why didn't they call me in Feb? Its almost like they are lying to me. Never again. They all can't just say "uhhh...I never received it!" Jeesh... I had a resident physician came to my office wanting to register for an ACLS class but didn't want to pay the $100 resident-kaleida health physician fee. Excuse me, are you that cheap that he couldn't afford the fee and he needed it for his practice. When he came by yesterday to register, he didn't even have his checkbook. I gave him his materials, he balked at the fee....and said he would bring his checkbook in tomorrow(which is today). If he didn't show up, I had his # and I would have called him. The next day he came to my office and was fishing around for the check. Honestly, i know residents don't make a lot of money (hell, they make more $$ than me and the nurses!) but we can't waive the fee for the course. I don't have authorization to do this anyways. Other than that, I never have problems with physicians registering for classes. As long as you give them what they want - they are great. If you don't, watch out. I had this one physician just before I left for Denver wanting to know when she was getting a refund...from a class 2 years ago! She emailed me awhile ago about it (like last year) and never called to ask about it. She comes upstairs to the nurse educators and starts reaming them out. I heard about it from them. the physician called me back 2 days later after she calmed down (and found the rest of her paperwork to put this through). do you want to know how much her refund is - only $65.00. Flipping out over $65.00? She could have easily called me before she came ranting and raving and this could have been resolved rather quickly. I processed her paperwork, after talking to her and telling her that she is not getting the "full"refund but a partical one just like everyone else. I also told her that she will get her refund in 4-6 weeks. I don't know whats happening with it because it has to go to Diane and then to Mary, the CNO of our hospital system in order to refund the $$ (before Accounts payable has to cut the check). That was about 5/7. When Mary sees the 2008 date, I just hope she will approve for the refund. I haven't gotten any emails from her personal secretary yet. I am just waiting for it to happen. It may not but we shall see.
God! I have been bitching about work for the past 2 journals. You guys are probably thinking...all this woman does is work, sleep, work, sleep. Which is probably true. Its not easy being on my own, supporting myself and my cat and making ends meet. No husband or kids to deal with. I do it. For now, thats how things are. what I really need to do is find some activities to do during the week, even if it takes me out of here for a few hours once a week. That way, I can talk about the activity. I am happy with my home environment here at my duplex appt. the last place was down right horrible. creepy landlords and noisy tenants. My new landlord, Kevin is great. I never hear from him and he is as private as I am. I've been here since Jan 24th. I will talk more about this place in a future journal.
For now I must sign off -
