Today was a better day. I went to my friend Chris and Tom's son's communion party. I really didn't know too many people at this party. I mostly talked to Chris's father who was up from Florida. I probably haven't seen him since 1997 when I ran the Walt Disney Marathon. I also met Chris's cousin who knows a running friend of mine. Spoke to Chris's sister but she was busy helping Chris.
Socially - it was awkward at first but felt that if I found a group of 2-3 people - I would be more outgoing vs shy and quiet. Chris and Tom's family are very nice people. I also seen their 3 older kids and met their new baby who is already 9 months old. Very cute.
I did hang out for alittle while longer and made an extra attempt to socialize after everyone left. I actually allowed myself to have fun and socialize alittle bit, not with everyone but I tried to get myself out there. The evening lasted until 6pm. They called for rain all day here but the weather held off.
I will get together with them again in the coming weeks to hang out with my old friends. Its been a long 3 years and hopefully it won't happen again.
