May 14, 2010 Day 2-4

So far its been a lot of fun.  Kelly and Dan took mercy on me - we went back to the house a day early.  I had a form of altitude sickness headache that wouldn't quit. Also felt tired and looked really pale.  Kelly gave me a ton of water to drink to make sure I didn't get any worse. That sure helped.  Tuesday I took a ton of pictures around the cabin, which I will post on here when I get back home.  Ate lunch and left about 2pm.  Got back about 3:30-4pm and just relaxed.  My energy came back almost immediate when we got there.  its a big difference from 10000 ft to 5000 ft.  Kelly decided that Wednesday I would get a hair cut, highlight and color.  She wanted to treat me.  That was very nice of her!  I would never be able to repay her hospitality and generosity.  Again, we ate dinner really late - about 9:30-10pm.  I don't think its healthy to eat that late, then go to bed.  The food just sits there like a rock while your sleeping.  Wednesday, I got up - hopped on DS to check on you guys because my sister was working and had some downtime.  She comes in the door at 11am (talk about bankers hours..LOL!!).  Looked at me and asked me why I didn't get dressed yet.  (thought she would be home at noon like normal 1/2 day people do).  We went to a mexican restaurant for lunch.  It was pretty good.  Denver has a ton of mexican restaurants.  After lunch we went to see "date night".  It was pretty good.  that ended at 3pm.  We went walking around the little shops and stuff.  Then at 3:45pm I had my hair done.  It looks nice, kept the length but at the ends it is layered.  She highlighted it but used most of my natural light brown hair color to accent it.  I did take a picture of that too so I will download it on to the home computer when I get home tomorrow.  She gave me this keratin treatment to make my hair really silky and straight (I have a lot of it and its very full).  she said it will stay for about 6 months.  My hair must have cost my sister a pretty penny!!  I have the best sister in the world to do that for me.  Wed eve, we chilled and watched American idol results show and again, ate late - 10pm this time. Thursday was kinda a downtime day again,  This time Kelly's mother in law was taking me to lunch and a movie at noon. I am not one to put a lot of makeup on and Kelly left some of hers for me to put on.  So, I very lightly put it on. Called Kisma (left a message on her cell) in the AM.  At noon, she came in.  Betty is a very nice woman and very easy to get along with.  I can see why Kelly fell in love with her.  We went to this sandwich shop that has these tasty chicken salad sandwiches.  MMMM....talked, laughed.  We talked about our stories.  We didn't have time to go to a show because she had a 5pm hair appt.  So we went walking around the little shops near by.  After that we went driving around to see the multimillion dollar homes in Denver (where all the lawyers and drs live).  She showed me Washington Park.  We accidentally went into the area where we weren't suppose to drive in.  There was an opening and we took it.  We had so many people giving us dirty looks and yelling at us.  LOL!!  We weren't bothering anyone and we were going like 5 mph down the road.  We had to turn around and go all the way back to where we came in.  Its a nice little park.  NExt time, I am bringing my rollerblades out and go rollerblading in the park. I really enjoyed myself with her.  I never really got to know her as a person and now I can actually say that we are now friends.  Dan is lucky to have a mom like her.  When Betty dropped me off I discovered that I didn't have the code to do the security system but Kelly called her and gave it to her (THANK GOD!).  I got in and seen that Kelly and her step daughter were there so I didn't have to worry at all.  As I was sitting at the kitchen table my trace phone turned on but didn't leave a message.  Kisma called.  grabbed her # on the sticky note I had and called her on the home #.  She left a message but I am unable to retrieve it from my phone.  Kelly said the house has terrible reception for cell phones.  We will meet Kisma today after her appt around 2.  I have a touch up hair appt at 12 noon and then we will wait for Kisma to get out of her appt and meet her for lunch.  Yesterday evening, we all went to this vietamese restaurant with their neighbors Jim and Renee.  Jim is an alcoholic (he belongs on DS!!) and probably had about 2-3 jack and cokes before we got there (he cannot handle his liquor and gets intoxicated very quickly).  He was alittle drunk when we got there, slurring his words.  They have a beautiful home with 3 cats.  They have a lot of money (more than Kelly and Dan) because he is an anesthesiologist!  They also have a condo in Mexico.  They are very nice people and don't flaunt their $$.  Anyways, getting back to the evening - we had 1 drink at the house.  Champagne.  It was good.  Most of the trip I really didn't have any alcoholic beverages, except for the margarita when went to the mexican restaurant with Kelly (Dan won't go because of the mariachi bands) and the glass of champagne.  The guy had 1 glass of wine with us, 1 for the road and 2 beers at the restaurant.  I feel for Renee, she is a nice lady and super friendly can't believe she puts up with that. Apparently, he was pretty good last night - they have seen him much worse.  I could tell Dan was getting kinda nervous about his condition and didn't drink the whole night. At the vietamese restaurant, Kelly and Renee shared this combo enough for 3 people and ate.  I had rice with chicken and pork (was good but it was a lot of food!), Dan had this spicy veg platter and Jim had Fu (vietamese soup).  We were laughing about the "fu" word.  Made many jokes about it.  I said "Fu  you"  LOL!!!  You just had to be there.  Dan said "fee fi FU fum"  we went on and on.  We did have a good time last night.  We left there at 9pm and dropped them off, gave them the left overs.  Got home and went to the bedroom to read until I fell asleep about 10:30.  Got up this morning at 6:15am to shelf check myself in to Southwest.com by 6:35am.  Even after I self checked and clicked on at 6:35am on the dot I still got A group #36.  I couldn't get any faster than that!  At least the Denver to Baltimore flight I will get a window seat and I plan on getting the 5th or 6th row again.  I was in the 2nd row from the Baltimore and Denver flight and all I can hear is the engine in my ears.  Too close!!  Then the Baltimore to Buffalo flight I am A 39.  Thats not bad either.
Anyways, I need to sign off this journal.  I probably won't be back on to conclude my trip until I get home and fill you in on the rest.  My flight leaves tomorrow at 6:35am.  I won't be home until alittle after 2.  It will be good to get home and back to reality.  The next time If I can't get a 10am trip home it would have been easier to get a 5pm or 6pm flight home instead of a 6:35am flight home.
