May 10, 2011 - exercise update/ general update
Hi everyone,
That guys funeral is today. My friend Debbie apparently worked for the guy for about 6 years as a RN at Buffalo General. I am going to accompany her. I really didn't know him well but with the circumstances that happened last week while running and him collapsing. I feel like I need to do this. Closure. It will make me feel better. Apparently, there will be a lot of people going to this so we are getting there as early as possible.
Not going to run today. I walked last night around 6:15-7:20pm around the neighborhood to make up for sunday which was mothers day. Went to a mothers day brunch at a legion post not far from my parents. I've had their breakfasts before and they always do a great job. Then my brother and I went to my parents house. Mom and Dad had to go to the store and get hamburger rolls for dinner. We brought our old shirts and our personal sqeeges. He did the outside and I did the inside. I think I got jipped because more than 1/2 the windows were those popout windows that you can open from the inside. He finished by noon (but cleaned the gutters) but I was still working until 1:30pm. It looked great and mom thanked us for her mothers day present. Of course, it was discovered after we were done with the front window pane that the inside double window pane is streaky and dirty. Dad is gonna have to have this replaced. We were hoping that the window was dirty from the outside but it wasn't. Also, the french door leading to the summer room has some kinda dirty condensation (on one spot, in the center of the door). they thought that the window was still dirty but it was the double pane from the inside, nothing that I couldn't have fixed.
Looks like for my denver trip, my brother and I are sharing double when my cousin gets married in Witchita KS. God! I hope he doesn't snore. Of course, he will be the 1st to tell me that I do...LOL!! Looks like my sister has some sort of catering party she is doing on the 2nd so what was decided was to go to a holiday inn near the denver airport so I can get the plane at 6:30am. My brother might be doing the same because Scout is deathly afraid of fireworks and he has to make sure he is safe. I emailed him and told him what I owed for the room so I don't have to worry about it at check in (I just got a quick email - he wants to settle the sunday before we leave so he can have $$ for the rest of the trip when we go back to Denver - so, that means I will be carrying even more $$ on me. I didn't want to do that. Jeesh, I hope I don't get robbed down there....) I do have to buy my outfit (at Kohls). Arlene (my co worker) gave me a 30% coupon to use for the outfit. That was nice of her. I should get this in the next day or two. I want to go shopping next week for it. I also might buy some other tops for work and trip (to wear for dinners with the family) and shorts for the trip.
Looks like I will be running tomorrow(Wed) instead of today. Besides, I think its suppose to be nice and I might take it outside for a change. I will follow my 3.1 mile route in the neighborhood. If I don't have one, I will go back on Active.com and get one laid out. I know its the day before group but with mothers day being on sunday (not getting home until 8pm) and the funeral being today (tues) I have to adjust my workout schedule. I'll be glad when June 5th is finally here. I will be sad to have the 5K training run overwith. I do hope they continue with this for the summer. I am definitely going to look into it. Not sure if it will be Kaleida health based - Roswell Park Cancer Institute location wide but Im sure there will be something at the park like they do the other days.
I did have a busy weekend. Friday, that concert was great. We went to dinner at an area restaurant. Our bill was alittle high but I threw in about $30.00 for the dinner. Of course, Jen as usual didn't have any $. I still do not understand where her $$ is going to. I asked her nicely and she said she is trying to catch up on her utility bills (apparently, she owes more than $2,000 for gas and $500.00 for electric from her old apartment) and student loan bill. anyways, if you ever hear of a group called "Rockapella" GO SEE IT! They are fanominal. 5 guys singing accapella (one of the guys did the drums with his mouth - I was in awe the whole concert). Saturday, I cleaned most of the day but my friend Shawn from HS came out to see me. We went to Niagara Falls and walked around there and went to the casino for a few hours. We did bring alcoholic beverages. I did warn him that I do not drink much so I ended up "sipping" the whole night. Needless to say, we didn't get drunk because I can't (I don't get drunk anymore plus if I do - I see the porcelin god in the middle of the night - I can't handle it!). we didn't even make a dent on the segrams. He said to keep it and drink it (It might take a year...LOL!!). Besides, his wife kept checking on him so he left my place by 1am. My god, she knows we have been close friends for 35 freaken years, since we were 8 years old. Such a nervous nelly. She came with him to the reunion and seemed pretty serious like she didn't want to be there. Oh well. Thats her. I could tell he was alittle put off about her.
Anyways, thats it for now. Be back probably friday to update you all on the funeral, workouts on wed and thur and plans on the weekend.

Turns out that Debbie doesn\'t want to go to the funeral because of the crowds, thats ok by me. I might as well do my running tonight. what I might do is, go do my running the minute I get home, go over to wegmans and get my salad fixings (I have those green bags - they are wonderful, they keep your veggies fresh for about 8 days), maybe see Debbie (she\'s painting her garage).
Hi Jen, our thoughts and prayers are with you all, and our deepest sympathy, and condolences go out to the gentleman\'s family, and to you all, his friends. we\'re deeply saddened, and so very sorry to hear of the passing of the gentleman. we are with you all in spirit, and sending lots of love, from all of us here. we\'re keeping you all very close within our hearts. it\'s awful sad about the gentleman passing. we wish his family comfort, healing, and peace.

I\'m glad you didn\'t have to go to the funeral. You are doing great on your running. It\'s great that you are getting some new clothes. I always love that. I think it will be okay with your brother as long as he doesn\'t snore loud. I\'m glad you had a good weekend.
