Maternity Pants

The other day when I was bound and determined to take my clothes off, my mom bought me three maternity outfits at Target.  All jet black.  Today I'm wearing the pants, with a big sweater that covers the stretchy panel.  They feel GREAT. On the one hand I wonder how I could have been so large that I would have to expand into maternity pants with just a little bit of bloating.  And then I wonder how much of my current puffiness is due to the hormones, and how much is due to the cookies.   And most of all, I am so torn by the very thought of wearing maternity clothes.  It seems like cheating, pretending.  I yearn, hope, wish, HOPE for the day I'll get to wear them for the right reason.

Oh Kay..you hit the nail on the head. About one month ago, I was in Target (must say, I love Target) and saw a giant ad and liked the shirt. Wouldn\'t you know it was maternity. I went ahead and bought it and even wore it (you know how so many of the styles today look maternity even when they\'re not) and felt like I was getting away with something. I was so afraid someone was going to recognize it as maternity and then call me out on it. I even wanted to cut the tag out since it said \"Liz Lange Maternity.\" Now I can\'t even bear to see it in my closet. But enough about me. I am hoping that you\'re wearing the maternity clothes NOW because one of those grape-follies causing you so much discomfort contains THE egg that is destined to be your baby in nine months!!

Here\'s wishing you\'ll be wearing those pants for their intended purpose for months!
