Marriage Advice.....
Ok ladies its been a while since I've witten in my jounrnal, but I'm looking for some advice. Since becoming engaged there have been so many changes in the relationship between my fiance and I. There were alot of things we werent expecting to have to deal with in preparation for our wedding and marriage. While I think we are doing the best we can to somewhat prepare oursleves to become husband and wife, I am interested to hear from you ladies any advice you might have for me. Were there any things about married life that surprised you? Were there things you expected to be difficult, but turned out easy, and things you thought might be easy but were difficult? I know all this might sound silly, but I never realized just how much life would change once we announced we were getting married, and just how much my fiance's family would come to effect me and my life and vice versa. I guess I'm just looking for any helpful tips or words of wisdom from you ladies who have already become wives. On a side note: My grandmother is being released from the hospital! She still has to take lots of medications and will need breathing treatments because the pneumonia effected her asthma, but she is alive and will be able to come home where she feels safe and happy!! Thanks so much for all of your prayers and support.

Oh where do I begin. I think the MOST important thing to realize once you are married is that you are a your new family. The two of you have become a family and you need to make sure you put yourselves first. It\'s so hard to bring two families together and not have drama, but the most important thing in the world is to make sure that you both don\'t let the outside drama get in the middle of your relationship. If there\'s drama in DH\'s family, he handles it, if there\'s drama in my family, I handle it. Try not to put yourself in the position (for the most part) where you get in the middle of drama going on in his family, make sure that if it\'s something that you\'re upset about or involves you that DH sticks up for you and makes effort to resolve it. This is all coming from personal experiences.
As for the two of you the MOST important thing to remember is communication and constantly showing each other how much you love each other. If he does something that bothers you like a pet peeve, don\'t just think it will go away..it won\'t, instead it will build up and build up until you get angry about it, where if you address it early on you can both make strides to fix it.
You\'re going to LOVE married life!
Hi sam you know I love ya dearly but in this department I have no expertise being single, but wanted to say I am glad your grandma is doing better.Have a good weekend and you know if ya need me just write.Love Ya,Kim
I\'m with 4everinlove- make sure you put eachother first and all else second. It was tough for my husband and I because we\'re both super close to our families, and while you want your spouse to be happy, you don\'t want to dissapoint your family. Put each other first, and everything will be so much easier. You\'ll do just fine- you\'ve come through a lot so far and are happy!!!
First of all, what great news to hear about your Grandma. Hoping she continues to improve.
Things do change a lot when you move into together and even more for some reason when you become married. Learning each others good and bad habits. Do remember you still need time for yourselves. And communication is number 1. Enjoy each other
