Marie Osmaond

Hi everyone,
I know some of you must have watched Marie Osmond's interview on Oprah about her beloved son Michael who passed from suicide last February. Ken said that I shouldn't watch the interview because it will make me sad & I said, "i'm already sad."
Yes it was sad, but I sense a sisterhood with her - one I feel here. She is devastated, but with her faith and Michael's wish that she be happy, is pushing forward like all of us here. My heart broke for her, yet I found the show to be uplifting  as she and her family keep Michael in the center of their home, their gatherings and their lives. My reason for watching the show was to see if I can learn anything and I did. I think as moms we all share feeling responsible no matter how our children passed from this life to the next. But as Marie said dwelling on those thoughts can ruin the rest of our lives. I also learned that all of us smile through the tears and go on for our other loved ones and to honor our children.
She is loving and courageous and has faith that she will see her son again. I wish her peace and healing as I do for all of us.

Linda, I only saw the preview and didn\'t watch the interview. It broke my heart even then. I felt a sisterhood also and wished she could find this site. She\'s a strong mother just like we have to be. Hope all is well with you. Hugs, Danette

I\'m with you, Linda. I felt a sisterhood too and the look in her eyes is one that is all too familiar, isn\'t it? Her words meant so much to me and I\'ve been thinking about them a lot. I hope that others who watched learned something too... perhaps how to companion someone who is in grief. I\'m sure she touched millions of hearts and to watch her sing that song in honor of Michael...no words can describe how that felt. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings about it. My husband watched with me and it was a way for us to open up and share more of where we find ourselves in this moment. He was touched too. Much love your way, Joanie

I am convinced that what WE feel all other mothers that have lost children feel. I can watch things like that because...I have lived that pain...I am not imagining the pain...i know it. I wish with all my heart she could know us...because I am convinced that we could help each other...love and hugs...Karen

I watched the interview as well. She expressed what we all feel. I thought it was inspiring - I hope other mothers watched so that they would know they are not alone.
What a courageous thing for her to do. I cried as she sang.
Hugs. Marlene

I truly believe that no matter who you are, no matter where you come from the pain is the same, and because we all share the experience of this intense pain we do have an unspeakable bond-one that no one outside this \"circle\" can understand no matter how they may try. I didn\'t see Oprah, but am moved by what you have shared, Thank you so much for sharing this story, Love, Charlene

I wish I had seen this interview. A friend of mine called me later and told me about it. She said she thought of me the whole time she was watching it. You are right Linda, it is a sisterhood and we share the most painful journey there is. Love & Hugs, Kim
