March 28, 2011 - weekend workout

Good morning everyone,
I did my 1 min run/2 min walk on the treadmill.  It went well but I was extremely winded just before the mile mark.  I was done in about 14 minutes.  Not too bad.  Bri, I will do what you mentioned about the 1.5 grade tomorrow.  Today is a day of rest. Found I had a little bit of energy when I got home so I cleaned my kitchen stovetop.  LOL!!
Sunday, I left at noon to do my 3.6 mile walk around the park in the city of Buffalo.  Its a nice park adjacent to the Buffalo Zoo.  The weather was nice and sunny - not warm by any means.  Had my sweatshirt, t-shirt underneath, sweatpants.  Wore my spring jacket zipped up and headed out.  It took me about 25 minutes to do 1 time around, 1.8 miles.  I did the 2nd time around so I was out there an hour.  Seen a lot of people out there walking in the park.  Walked around a lot of people more than once around and talked to a few of them or smiled at a few  (2 guys I walked past about 3 times, the 3rd time they nodded and said hello).  At least we have nice people in Buffalo.  the only people who didn't pay attention are the hardcore runners.
Tomorrow is another 1 min run/2 min walk. Thursday we all get together again as a group and run the same route.  Hopefully it will be easier.
I did manage to lose another 2 lbs.  187!!  The "biggest winner starts on 4/4.  I've been doing the 3 salad a week for lunch thing for 2 weeks.  Plus 1 fruit, 1 veg at 2-3pm (sometimes 2 fruit).  I just paid my $15.00, stuck it in the envelope.  Now I have to hunt down Mary and Todd for the 15.00 and take it up to the cashier before friday's registration and $$ deadline.

Wow! I\'m not even close to where you are at. Good for you! I\'m still walking on the treadmill, but the damn thing always puts me on an incline. I hate inclines! LOL! I usually try walking for 20 to 30 minutes since other people want to use the treadmills too. I can do twenty minutes pretty good, but it\'s a battle to do the thirty minutes, which is so worth it. Anyway I continue to give you good luck with what you\'re doing. Keep at it.
