My baby girl came into the world just 9 days ago... she is a precious gift sent from God. Although being a mommy is a BIG adjustment, I love her sooo much!
Here's the labor story: At about 3;30 AM I went in to the hospital with contractions. They weren't too strong or regular, but my doctor said he would help things along since I was going to be induced the next day anyways (41.1 wks along). When we got to the hosp I was only dialated to a 1-2. Since there were NO delivery rooms... we were told to walk around for a few hours. So, that is what we did. What a trip!! Hubby helped me through all the contractions by putting pressure on my lower back. Went back to triage after two hours- I was at a 2-3.... finally a room was available and we were in there by about 7:30 am. Shortly after, my parents arrived and then my contractions started to get even less regular. My hubby and dad went to get food and my mom and I began to stroll around the hospital. Then, I asked my mom and dad to leave- my dad's hyperness was driving me nuts! My doctor came in to check me and see if he could break my water. No luck- I was at a 3, but baby's head was too high to reach water. So the PITOCIN started..... once that got in me, my doc was able to break my water and I was at a 4. Then i asked for an epidural. They gave me the epidural and I got NO relief because before we knew it, I was at a 9 and nearly ready to push. The bad news.... baby's head was still high, so I had to labor down. I had to hold back from pushing for about 6-10 contractions- that was the hardest thing I ever had to do..... Finally baby and I were ready. I pushed for an hour and then came our little girl! I was so shocked that it was a girl, I was also shocked she had hair- BLONDE hair, and that she was 8 and half pounds! WOW!! What an amazing experience.
Things are going pretty good- unfortunately breastfeeding did not work out. Tomorrow is her 2 week appt, looking forward to getting her stats......
So thankful for this little miracle!
