Marathon News.

Well, I thought my marathon hopes were over yesterday.  I was sitting on the sidelines of my daughter's soccer game, when one of her team mates was tripped or shoved, or whatever, and he fell into me.  His cleat hit my ankle.  OMG that hurts!!  Fortunately, it was just a surface wound, nothing serious.  Just hurt a lot.   Today I was supposed to run a "half marathon" or 13.1 miles.  So you would think I would have remembered my pedometer.  But nooooooo.  I realized it after I had started.  I could have gone home to get it and started over, but then I realized, I have run this route so often, I kinda know, this stop sign is one mile.  This hill is mile 2.  I cross this street and mile 3 and so on.  So I just ran without it.  It was kind of freeing.  I don't know exactly what my time was or if I ran exactly 13.1 miles, but I ran for 2 and a half hours.  So I guess that was okay.  I enjoyed it, so that was really good.  I think after the marathon, when I am not yet in full training for the Columbus marathon, I will do my long runs without a pedometer.  Then I can just run because I love to run, I love the way it makes me feel.  So anyway, I see that as a positive.

I thought of you yesterday when I saw clips from the Boston marathon. I can\'t imagine running because you love to run! It must be a great feeling. I\'m not sure I could even run if the devil himself were on my tail! Glad the injury was minor...scary after all this work, I\'m sure.
