Manicky Morning

I think I am officially sleep saturated. Sleeping is my favorite way of waiting. Wake me when it's time to actually do something. It works really well until the side effects kick in. Muscles aching from lack of movement. Joints that have found their resting pose and complain at movement. Bowels that are clogged for lack of movement to help them do their job. Dreams getting louder and more poignant. Those symptoms have been escalating for a week or three now. My sleep schedule is non-existant this week. I'm rather enjoying the absence of my sleep schedule, though. The benefits of a sleep routine are enormous, but even that has its side-effects. All 24 hours of the day have their own, special magic. Whatever hours I am sleeping, I still feel like I missed something while I was sleeping. Stirring up the sleep schedule every now and again lets me satisfy that curiosity.

I've been trying to nudge these manic moments to the rivers instead of the house. The rivers are the real reason I am here. The house is just a base camp. The base camp I packed at Horseshoe Lake is still where I packed it. It will serve handsomely in the empty house while I get a feel for the new job site.

But, of course such a simple plan is far too simple for a manic compulsion. There's decisions to be made. Crack that whip! There's money to be spent and ideas to be broadcast.

All the more reason to take it to the river. Especially with the Paducah Dragon Boat Festival amping up for this weekend.
