mal de what?
God help me but I have diagnosed myself with Mal de Debarquement.
That's right.
Mal de what?
After exiting a cruise ship, I traveled 6 hours by car. After exiting the car, I was fine (I think).
It wasn't until i laid down on my back that I realized I was rocking like I was still on that (damn) boat.
------
I tried hard to shake it the next day, tried hard not to panic. But, google beckoned and now I know I have it: Mal de Debarquement, French for land sickness or something like that.
===
As I write this, I'm feeling "OK". But last night, in the middle of the night, I felt a strong pulling sensation, as if the boat was making the sharpest turn, a turn that was going to throw me off the bed.
I hugged the corners of the bed "as if" it were a life raft.
I'm dizzy and spacey and my short term memory is shot to hell.
No cure, just "treatments".
The latest "treatment", our only hope, only reaps positive effects in maybe 70 percent of the participants. Oh and it's $1000 a throw. Oh and it's in NYC. Oh and don't worry if your still dizzy afterwards because lol it takes a while to kick in.
Is that a racket

A hellish day at work where I accomplished nothing.
I\'m dizzy and not up to the tasks.
I have made numerous mistakes, but I\'m trying to blunder through it all.
OMG, am I forgetful.
Damn primary care prescribed sea sickness meds.
Let\'s hope they knock me out.

i am trying VERY hard to ignore this, but it\'s not really possible. The boat swishes in my head...i know that sounds funny to the uninitiated.
