MAKING PROGRESS

When I first started this goal It was a total disaster and I even gained more weight. I was to discouraged to even log where I was. In the last year I finally got serious about getting control of my weight and I finally started using the only true method of weight loss which every obese person already knows in the back of their head.
I guess the only real reason I started was because my doctor asked me one day: how much longer I had planned on staying alive.  I told her, even though I'm poor.  I am still happy and wish to live for another 20 years.  She then told me I was never going to reach that goal, if I did not start taking better care of my body and lose a minimum of 100 pounds, and even more.
What is the secret?  You already know, eat less and exercise more.  Bad diets and chemicals don't do anything except increase your anxiety and eventually set you on another eating binge.  I have found that it is truly a lifestyle change.  So the secret in layman's terms is monitor everything you put in your mouth.  I have cut down all the usual sugars and starches and for some reason.  I really don't care for meat anymore. The other main thing is to get off your butt and move around.  In the last few months I have been using light l weight for muscle tone and to combat the pockets of hanging fat I now have.  But my real weight loss started to come by simply taking a long walk every day.  I am getting stronger each day, and the weight is just pouring off.
Now I know where the person who weighs 330 pounds and loses 70 or 80 pounds.  Everyone still sees a fat man and you don't get any praise from anyone except someone who knows you and hasn't seen you in a long time.
As for myself.  I am feeling much stronger and healthier, and I really hope to get down to my normal weight within the next year.  At the very least, I'm glad to report that I have finally started to go downward in weight rather than increase it.  Yesterday I broke out a box of brand-new jeans I could no longer fit and was able to get in them easily.  You can imagine how happy I was.
