Major Rains, Flash Floods, & Folks Needing Help
For those who aren't aware, the Midwest and most parts of Missouri especially have gotten anywhere between 4-7 inches of rainfall in about 36 hours, with the rains still continuing on in some spots. There's all sorts of serious accumulation issues and flash floods occurring because the grounds and local water bodies just can't keep up.
The hubby and I have been only mildly affected by it, with some seeping in the basement through the concrete block... more than usual but we are staying out in front of it as much as we can and prepping for repairs to be handled once the new owner is in (we are leaving her a personal check to pay to reseal the basement and paint, as it was due for this year anyway)... doing what we can to help as much as we can.
We are the fortunate ones. People have lost their cars and homes and belongings to this onslaught. People and animals have been displaced for who knows how long. There has been tremendous distress and great suffering.
It is hard to balance my emotions this morning. I am grateful my own situation is so mild by comparison, and that the Cosmos wisely delayed the house closing so that Jeff and I could help the new owner. I am greatly saddened that this has happened at all, and that so many have lost so much. It makes me feel very helpless.
I think after breakfast, I'm going to do some research and see if there are ways that I can make a positive impact even while I'm tired, run down, and in the process of prepping to go to Atlanta tomorrow...
Prayers and positive thoughts for the folks here in Missouri would be greatly appreciated!!!

Saw the destruction on the Philadelphia news , the dynamics of water is amazing. Glad you're ok.
Overall, I am... my issues are nothing compared to what many are going through. This is just so hard to fathom...
Last week (?) it was bad flooding in North Carolina, seems like it's either drought or flood everywhere...
Yes, it sure does seem like the weather has gotten very extreme...
Oh wow. I haven't been watching the news at all this past week so I was unaware that there was such a crisis going on. I'm so sorry for the people that are being affected. Sending out prayers and positive thoughts for the rain to subside real soon for those poor folks:(
