Major Depressive Episode

For the third time in my life, I had a Major Depressive Episode. Once again, I didn't see it coming. It took my father looking at me over my weekend off & saying, "Enough is enough! Look at you! You're a skeleton!"
My work situation had gotten so completely abusive & out of control that I spent the last week of my life there preparing myself for the retaliation that my boss had always promised me would ensue. On the following Monday morning, I put my keys on my desk & everything that I had had always taken home to try to catch up on my overwhelming workload. My boyfriend is a recovered addict, and we have always told each other what to look for.
Thus, that Monday night I couldn't sleep again, went catatonic for about 6 hours throughout the day, and had massive amounts of crying fits. I couldn't eat AGAIN. He tried to get me to shower, which I couldn't even remember. Finally, he listed off the things he was seeing and made me promise to call my doctor.
In the morning, I went to see my primary care doctor, I told her my symptoms and she got me the meds that I needed to get through the night. She got me in with a crisis management therapist the next morning and, of course, I was terrified to use my insurance just in case it was "tracked." We went through the list of symptoms & she confirmed it. We made lists & I am beginning to feel much more like me. I go see her again Monday. I am hoping that by Wednesday I will be able to be on waaay less drugs so I can start looking for a new job.
Things are on the up & up now. :-)
