Made the Mistake of Suggesting Garlic and Ginger to Donna...

...as a new diet routine assuming she makes it through all this chemo she has to undergo this year to quell her cancer.  Naturally, right now, eating spicy food is the worst thing for her weak, nauseous stomach, but I merely meant at the end of this rough road.
What disturbed me, however, is her fatalistic attitude with regards to cancer, that, she felt that, no matter what one does, if one is predisposed genetically to the disease, tumors will form and there's nothing anyone can do about it.  Far be it from me to disagree, but my feeling is that one can delay the inevitable and live healthy much longer than if one eats crappy food and does nothing physical!  I had to point out Lance Armstrong, who's been cancer-free for, what, 5 years now, and I don't know if he did anything differently to enhance his physical and emotional health, but obviously something is working to keep the cancer from returning.
Why wouldn't a person want to feel as good as they possibly can, through diet, exercise and positive mental thought?  Her attitude is no matter what you do, if you're going to die, you're going to die.  Rather fatalistic, but considering what she's undergoing right now, this limited thinking is justified.
