See that sun in the morning,
Peeking over the hill?
I\'ll bet you\'re sure it always has and sure it always will.
That\'s how I feel about someone,
How somebody feels about me.
We\'re sure we love each other
That\'s the way we\'ll always be.
Oh, we ain\'t got a barrel of money,
Maybe we\'re ragged and funny
But we\'ll travel along
Singing a song
Side by side.
Don\'t know what\'s comin\' tomorrow
Maybe it\'s trouble and sorrow
But we\'ll travel the road
Sharing our load
Side by side.
Through all kinds of weather
What if the sky should fall?
Just as long as we\'re together,
It doesn\'t matter at all.
When they\'ve all had their quarrels and parted
We\'ll be the same as we started
Just a-traveling along
Singing a song
Side by side.
We\'re all hunting for something
Something we don\'t know what
\'Cause none of us are satisfied with things we know we\'ve got.
We all forget about moonlight,
As soon as we\'ve given our vow
But we\'d all be so happy if we\'d start and sing right now:
Oh, we ain\'t got a barrel of money,
Maybe we\'re ragged and funny
But we\'ll travel along
Singing a song
Side by side.
Don\'t know what\'s comin\' tomorrow
Maybe it\'s trouble and sorrow
But we\'ll travel the road
Sharing our load
Side by side.
That is such a sweet old song!!! I remember it!! I didn\'t realize how MANY artists sang it!!! You went to a lot of trouble to list all of that!! Great lyrics!!!! Thanks :-))
Ahhh, that was really nice! I think that my friends here at DS are so important...and the time that I was unable to use the internet for two weeks really brought that into focus. It\'s true that we are very aware of the thought processes that cancer survivors face, something that most other people or friends just can\'t comprehend. This is the nicest group of women I could imagine. I was visiting another site when I first got diagnosed and it was terribly depressing. Nothing like being with this bunch!!! hugs and good thoughts. I LOVe the Jersey Shore by the way. Used to go there every summer with my cousin and family. We stayed in Ocean City...or Long Beach Island. How about you?
hugs again, lindamae
Mostly Seaside, but I have visited Asbury, Pt. Pleasant, Wildwood and Atlaniec City. I have been to other beaches in other parts of the country, like SC, Fl., CA. MA and of course TX, but none of them compare to the Jersy Shore in my opinion. A bit biased I guess. LOL
You are right lindamae. Noone can understand us like we all do each other. You can tell people what it is like to have a dx of cancer, and what it is like to go through chemo, and the fear that constanly nags you, but untill you have gone through it, you really can\'t understand. The women here on DS have been a God Sent to me. We have a sisterhood that is unmatched. I love each and every one of you.
Thanks for sharing this - I love all the sentiments and am going to send this to my other friends! Thanks too for posting the lyrics to the song (all I could remember was \"side by side\" lol). We are all sisters and have a unique bond that I don\'t think others (non-cancer survivors) can really understand. This made my day, on a day where I really needed something to lift me up! Love and hugs to all of you xxxx LuEllen
ROCK ON - SISTERS.. We are filthy rich and even more blessed.. We know what others can\'t and are so afraid of.... We can face our fears... and together.. we can shine the light of our shared love and experience on to them.. and reveal them for what they are... We are an army.. and this could be the beginning of a Cancer Revolution.. Who knows what we will learn from each other to put towards the trial..
I\'ve certainly learnt so much to make this, otherwise difficult and lonely, task into a wonderful adventure with a bunch of the best women ever... Sorry I\'m fluffing up my journal at the moment and will keep it private till it\'s finished.. It\'s late and I got in a muddle with it.. Great to be back.. xxxxxx
What a wonderful song....Your right that \"Side by Side\" should be our them song. We all had a special bond that will never be broken. Thank you so much for making my day......Hugs.Beth
